About the Author
Dear Fellow Gardeners,
I became a Master Gardener through the Columbia County Extension Service in 1994. I have very much enjoyed the last 20 years of helping other gardeners find answers to their home horticulture questions, whether it be about soil, pests, composting, plant diseases or orchid growing. I wrote the first of these articles in April 1997, as Vice President of the Columbia County Master Gardener chapter. Since then, I've written 199 more that I hope have entertained, informed and most of all, encouraged other gardeners to try new things. My goal with each article is to invite readers into my world to see the garden as something wondrous and amazing, from the tiny microbes to the towering trees. Many readers have followed along with me as my children have grown along with my garden. I hope you enjoy this compilation of articles from 2011.
