Maura reached out and stroked his cheek. “We can share her. But she needs her reminder as well.”

With a nod Preston gave in. “Fine. But I’m still angry about this morning. Beth, go get me the heavy flogger.”

Chapter Four

Maura woke up to a cellphone ringing. It wasn’t in the room but it was somewhere in the quiet house. She knew it wasn’t hers; she had turned hers off before she even walked into Preston’s house last night. It had to be Preston’s she presumed, or maybe Beth’s. Were slaves allowed to have cellphones? It didn’t matter. She rolled over and moved next to Preston’s warm body. The sun was up and angling through the shades on the window, but it was still too early to wake up for breakfast or to have sex.

Eventually the phone stopped ringing and Maura was able to almost drift back to sleep…right before the phone attached to the landline in the house started ringing. She wanted to sleep and the annoying outside world was intruding on her perfect morning sleep-in.

Fucking hell, Preston grunted and disentangled his limbs from hers and stumbled out of the bedroom. Maura grabbed a pillow to replace his missing warmth and curled up into an almost fetal position. In the distance she could hear her lover talking on the phone but couldn’t make out the words. Whoever it was calling she hated them right away because they had taken her lover away from her.
