BILLY, IT'S TIME
Billy and Travis loaded up their Honda 750 and left their run down trailers to the landlord for back rent due. It's no longer feasible to stay in Georgia, neither one has worked for over a year. They were starving, and could not last much longer. It was time for change. They landed a small Carpenter job to give them enough money to start their journey. Along the way in search of work, they meet like minded people in dire need such as themselves. The year is 2017 and the bottom fell out of the economy, crime was the new law of the land, no police. The criminals use whatever force, necessary to survive.
Under constant attacks, they were losing their battle to survive, until they form a brotherhood with the Cherokee Nation, which results in a combined force with Billy's new group of people and the Cherokee Indians. A force the townspeople have never seen. The ferocity of their combined group is unmatched.
BILLY, IT'S TIME (SEQUEL)
The fear the town's people once had has been replaced with desperation and hunger. This book will cause a tear to fall when you read it.

Billy, It's Time (Book Set) - Michael P Buckley
BILLY, IT’S TIME
The date today is June 5, 2017. Throughout the world wars continued. But many countries, including the USA, no longer help to solve world problems. America has too many problems of its own. China crashed the world economy a long time ago, and since then, many countries have not been able to recover from the loss of industry.
Unemployment is at fifty percent, and the people who have jobs. Have to fight to keep them. Crime is higher than ever, and gangs are sprouting up everywhere. Local Governments, no longer have the large budgets they once had, and there are fewer taxes paid. Most of the available jobs are within local Government, but with all the downsizing, soon not enough police to do any good. The criminals will decide the new law of the land.
Billy and I worked for a shock absorber company in Georgia for four years. During that time, we became close friends. We were both married at the time, but neither of us had a good marriage.
I had a son in my marriage who was not mine by birth.
My wife Carla had married before, and her ex-husband was the birth father.
When Carla and I went our separate ways, she gave her son back to her ex-husband." The boy was more than happy to leave his mother for his real father. He was a good kid, only twelve when he went back to his dad. We got along well together, but when his mother was around, she made everyone’s life hell.
Billy went home early one day from work. Someone was injured during his shift in the factory. Billy’s section made the coil springs for heavy-duty shocks, and I tested the shocks for quality control in my section.
When Billy arrived home, it was ten’ o’clock in the morning. He caught his wife in bed with another man. Billy grabbed the baseball bat near his bed and smashed the man in the back, and broke his wife’s arm."
Neighbors heard the noise. They called the police, and an ambulance. One man dragged Billy out of the house before he killed someone. The man from the ambulance crew said the cheater’s back was probably broken, and the wife's arm was definitely broken.
The police department did not haul Billy away. They said the man he beat and his wife deserved what happened to them. If anyone tried to press charges, the police said he saw the man, and Billy’s wife, attack Billy with a knife, when he arrived on the scene. Georgia is not fond of anyone having sex with a married man's wife. He was lucky he was not shot and killed - or stabbed to death.
Saturday morning came and Billy stopped by my house with a box of donuts and a thermos full of fresh coffee.
I asked him where he got the money for the food.
He told me he did some carpentry work for a doctor, and he needed my help Monday morning to fix some doors and do a little work on his cabinets. The pay would be about 200 dollars-a little pocket change. Neither one of us have worked for over a year. With no more unemployment insurance and no jobs anywhere, Billy was lucky to get work at the Doctor's house. Billy’s friend recommended him to the Doctor. That is how he got the job, which does not pay a lot of money, but anything helps.
Billy and I live within walking distance from each other. We both live in a run-down trailer park. That is what we call home, if you want to call it that. It is more like a sardine can.
Travis, Billy said,
We are both in our mid-thirties. Things for the both of us have not gone well for a long time. I have an idea.
Why not do something different. We are not getting anywhere staying in this trailer park. If we are lucky, we get an odd job here and there."
Neither one of us has electric, disconnected long ago. We are both late on the land rental charges for our junky trailers.
I am tired of living like this.
I say we leave our junky trailers to the landlord to pay our rent, pack up, and head north to some place like Indiana. That is a good location, and we can head east or west from there. On our journey, we can look for a better life, if we pass through a place where there are jobs, we can stay there. There are no rules, only search for a better life. Fate can take us. If we stay here, we will die.
I cannot handle living like this anymore.
Travis, I am going either way.
I just thought I would ask you if you wanted to tag along on the journey."
Travis, let's do the job Monday, get the 200 dollars and go, what do you say?
Billy,
Travis said, I cannot think of any reason to stay here. Let's get the Hell out of here after we finish our job, Great idea.
Billy is thirty-six. He used to play college football, and he was a good middle linebacker in his day, at 6’3" and a solid 275 pounds. He was never a little guy. Billy received a college scholarship for his ability to play football (but how he earned a bachelor of science, degree is unknown). He almost made it to the NY Giants, but a car accident messed up one of his legs and that ended his chances to play with the pros.
Travis is thirty-seven 6’1" and weighs in at 225 lbs. He used to be a golden gloves boxer in his day; he graduated high school, but never went on to college. Old Travis used his fists throughout his life to get what he wanted, that is why he has nothing now.
Travis needs to work on his old 750 Honda—clean the carburetors, put in new spark plugs, new gas, and new oil—with any luck she will start up. The registration has expired, but no one worries about that anymore, because there is no budget for the local government to operate a driver license facility. There used to be ten people in the local police department, now there is only one person.
Law, what is that. There is not much law anywhere, anymore. The fire department has no money for fire trucks, when there is a fire, most things burn to the ground. The volunteer fire department has no money to put gas in their cars, if they are lucky enough to have cars.
Billy and I finished our work, and we were packed and ready to start our journey. We had the motorcycle purring like a kitten, all gassed up and ready to go. We are in North Georgia, so we will head to Nashville, and see what happens there. Tomorrow morning we will leave bright and early, told the landlord we were going to leave the trailers for him for our land rent. He did not seem happy because our trailers were junk, but he said all right, and wished us luck on our journey in the morning. He told us he was thinking about leaving soon himself, the economy was falling apart here, and no one could afford to pay their rent anymore.
6:00 a.m. And we were on our way, for better or worse, either way it mattered little. We could no longer stay here, we were starving here and not able to even pay our bills anymore. Our trip not carved in stone, we could change it anytime. As for now, we were on our way, heading for Nashville. We were paid 200 dollars, after filling the gas tank on the Honda and new oil, spark plugs, and some food for our backpacks there was about 150 dollars left. Not much, but with any luck we would fine some work along the way.
The Honda was rough on our butts, were not use to riding a motorcycle on long trips. We stopped at a few places along the way to get off the bike, and walk around a little bit and rest our sore butts. We arrived in Nashville later that day. It was dark outside when we arrived there. Found a small hole in the wall, just outside of Nashville, not expensive. Guess they were not renting any rooms, when they told us twenty dollars a night. We jumped on that, and said we would take the room for one or two nights.
"We cleaned up, and then drove into Nashville, to look for something to eat and size up the town. Not what we were hoping for, there were local gangs roaming the streets, we did not see police anywhere. We did not hear any country music blasting around either. No matter, we would check everything out in the morning, for
