Crapppppppppp! Russ's voice hollers loudly and echoes over and over, joined by Everett's scream underlying and punctuating it.

The two men find themselves sliding down an incline of about forty five degrees that is soft and pliable, but littered here and there were soft brown piles of an unknown substance, which they roll over and smash into as they tumble down the incline.

Finally, they reach a more level space and roll to a stop.

Russ sits up, sniffs the air. Oh crap!

Everett's nose wrinkles up as he looks at himself and his friend. Yeah. And all over us too! He curses, struggling to get up and fling the brown stuff from his uniform as he climbs to his feet.

Russ tries to get up, and then falls back down.

Everett looks at him. I know. Crap!

You're such a mind reader, Ev. Russ points out with disgust, and then manages to get to his feet by grabbing hold of the wall next to him. As he does he grunts and cries out with pain, favoring his right leg.

Did I ever tell you about that gal I met back in Kansas?

Russ is caught off guard by the comment and looks away from his leg and into Everett's face. Are you crazy? Now's not the time to...

    SNAP!

Russ screams at the top of his lungs, and then blacks out.

She was a doctor. Everett finishes, sighing.

He pulls out a small protein bar and begins to eat on it. Now where the hell are we?

He activates his wrist communicator and eyes the GPS co-ordinates on it. Great. Now we're even further away than before.

Disgusted, exhausted and futile he closes his eyes. Life sucks and then you die.

He tries to snuggle against the wall a bit closer to get more comfortable, his eyelids drooping shut. "I sure could
