Chapter 1: Introduction to Meditation
Serenity. Peace. Tranquility. These are all things that a vast majority of us are sorely lacking in our lives. With to-do lists that seem to grow by the second and an ever-increasing amount of responsibilities being placed upon our shoulders, most of us rarely get the opportunity to relax, reflect, and regroup after a busy day...
But what if I told you that there was a simple and straightforward way to achieve the relaxation and calm in your life that many of us only dream of? What if there was an ancient practice that could give you the power to not only enhance your emotional and mental well-being, but improve the overall health of your body?
For centuries, cultures throughout the world have been using meditation to help remedy a wide variety of stress related ailments, and to maintain a mind-body connection that allowed them to improve their physical wellness. It's believed that hunter-gather societies were the first to utilize meditation, which can in the form of staring into an open flame and focusing their thought.
Despite the fact that it has been such a popular practice over the span of our history, it has just recently begun gaining ground in the Western World. People are now beginning to see all of the benefits that it can offer and are turning to meditation in order to restore balance in their personal and professional lives. In many respects, meditation can offer everyone the chance to give your mind and body the attention and nurturing it needs to heal itself and ensure that you are taking the time to live in the moment.
The amazing thing about meditation is that it doesn't involve
