    Lyn

Like a whirlpool, my mind is twisting and turning in the deep shadows of my soul. I don’t know the reason for my living, too. Just being a fae is not great and, as I play with the food kept in front of me, I am forced to acknowledge the fact that, today’s meal, in the literal sense, sucks! I am not in any mood to have it, again. Pushing the plate aside, I am about to get up when a strong, muscular hands settle on top of mine, No Lyn, not today. You are not going to starve yourself, again, Let go, Ray, I say, and see his eyes piercing in mine, as he silently commands me to sit down. Don’t make a scene here, says Ian, and pulling my other wrist, they both settle me back on the bench. Ian pours some and pushes the glass of orange juice to my direction, sort of, forcing me. I raise my vacant and cold eyes to his side and see him shaking his head, as controlling his tears; he takes me in his embrace.

The night of the yearly dance is still so fresh in everyone else’s mind, it is hard to believe that Tris and Kay have died, just like that. The night, when all of our lives were shattered beyond repair!

    *****

Tris had come to me, Kay! Have you seen her, Lyn? No, I said, as I looked at her, I am scared, she had said. Shrugging my shoulder and shaking my head, I looked at her, She will come in a second, I am going to look for her, her entire posture seemed scared by something, a sort of alarm, which goes at the mere thought of some ill omen taking place. That night, not one of us was aware of the fact, that we will never see them again. Ray, Ian and I, we're too exhausted by all the dancing and then, as the night ended, all of us made it to our respective rooms. For a couple of days, when neither Kay nor Tris turned to the room, I told this to Ray and Ian. Leaving all the rules aside for our friends, three of us searched forest that night and the areas around it. Both the girls have left their cell phones, too. Then, when one entire week passed, finally, giving up our searches, we made it to Alan’s office and told him about the entire incident. Alan, as obvious, was utterly furious and said, How can you people be so irresponsible? Alan appointed area’s local police, human, of course, to send out the searching party. Exams were over, and the vacations have started. The entire two months, as the search was on, all of us had started losing hope. We have lost them! We will never be able to find them! I cried silently myself tonight, every night. Going to each of their bed by turn and sometimes just sleeping on their mattresses.

Especially, when the information was given to us, Your sister, Miss Lyn, says the cop, And your friend, Miss Tris. I am afraid; we have found two dead bodies near the river. Would you like to identify them? I have hit the floor by sitting on my knees, with Ray and Ian supporting me from behind, I felt, as if, Earth is swirling in slow motion and that soon, breaking up in small fissures, it will devour me in one go. They have left us, for forever! It was murder, that’s obvious, but the question remained, who did this?

Ted and boys have gone into a sort of shock, after the entire incident. After the questioning was done to them by the cops, the clear sadness and some strange anxiety of taking revenge from the murderer could
