About this ebook

The long awaited sequel to "Are There Really Men Like That – Marge"

Jen struggles to maintain a normal relationship with Marge while Ron seems closer to Jerry than ever. She asks; how can Jerry be good with Marge screwing around? Just what the hell can Jerry get out of it? How can Marge do such a thing and what the hell possesses her to keep doing it? Because Jerry has been Ron's best friend since middle school, she keeps on trying. Ron shares that Jerry has a history with unfaithful women and gets to know Mark, the bull. It isn't until Jen remembers she's not always been faithful herself that she can cut Marge the slack she need to normalize the relationship and she eventually learns that Mark isn't so much the bad guy as she thought.

Life goes on and new interests and new friends smooth over the rough spots. The guys take up bowling and introduce Hank, Mark's college roommate into the group. When the girls join the bowling team, Jen worries about a flirtatious friendship with the new guy in the picture. Ron encourages her to give as good as she gets and she soon enjoys the naughty feeling of exchanging innuendos with him.

Jen learns that Ron is struggling himself to wrap his head around just what it's like for his cuckold friend. As he works to understand, he takes up surfing cuckold web sites and shows Jen where Jerry has been.

Just as it seems she is coming to grips with it all and life will again become mundane, Ron throws a wrench in the works and Jen finds herself facing the very same challenges as Marge, wondering the same things about Ron as she did Jerry. She now must deal with Hank on a whole new level.

Ron's actions anger her to a point of some delusional thinking and she's tempted to walk the fine line where Marge took her life changing misstep. Can she be successful where Marge failed? Can she give Ron a taste of Jerry's life without falling headlong into the lifestyle? And should she fail, can she and Ron survive? Jen struggles with all that and more.

    Disclaimer:

This is a fantasy. No one in their right mind should participate in the activities the characters in this story do. If you don't like cuckold stories don't read it. Warning: any cuckold in this story is a wittol.

    According to worldwidewords.org/weirdwords/ww-wit1.htm

    Wittol

Way back in medieval times there was the English cokewold, which eventually became our modern cuckold. The first bit is also the source of our cuckoo, with –old attached as a suffix giving a pejorative sense.

Some bright wordsmith of the fifteenth century took the old word and changed the first bit into wete, the quality of awareness or knowledge. (This is our modern word wit in slight disguise, as in witting, the opposite of the more common unwitting). So the idea behind wittol of somebody who knows he is a cuckold, but especially somebody who is happy about the situation.

In other words, a complacent cuckold; one who knows and is happy with the arrangement.

    Chapter 1

    I face reality.

When I got home I was surprised to see Ron was there. You're home early.

Yeah, the river was muddy and there wasn't a snowball's chance of catching anything so we headed back before lunch. Where've you been?

I was over talking to Marge.

All this time? You spent a couple of hours over there yesterday. What more could you have to talk about?

I went to ask her about that phone call I overheard.

Oh God, don't tell me you got all worked up over a one-sided call? Didn't we decide that we really couldn't judge that? he chided me. And… didn't we decide that, even if it was what it seemed, it really wasn't any of our business if they were happy with it?

Yeah, well, that was all well and good until I couldn't sleep and I was up and saw Marge coming back from her date.

So what? You saw Marge coming home. OK, you still didn't know what she was doing out. It could have been perfectly innocent.

Maybe, but I needed to know, so I slipped on my coat and went to see who it was she was with…

I proceed to tell him the story contained in "Are There Really Men Like That – Marge," as I started dinner.

Ron sat at the kitchen table and listened with what I assumed was disbelief. I was surprised he didn't ask questions or interrupt. It took me all the way through dinner to finish the story, even though I told him the Reader's Digest version. When I was through, I asked, Can you believe that? It sounds like a porn story.

Ron shook his head and said, I am surprised about Marge, I never knew about her sleeping around like that in college. Though, I'm not surprised that Jerry is OK with this.

It was my turn to disbelieve. What? Why wouldn't you be surprised about Jerry?

Ron shrugged his shoulders. It's not the first time a woman has not been exclusive with him. I blinked and gestured for him to continue. Well, I've never said anything because I thought that he'd gotten lucky with Marge. She seemed so down to earth and was devoted to Jerry.

Ah… you're going to have to be more specific than that. What do you mean, 'Not the first time a woman has not been exclusive?' What woman and why should she have been exclusive?

The first one, he answered, "was his first girlfriend in high school. Kathy Carson. They started going steady when they were sophomores. Near the end of the year, Kathy tried out to be a cheerleader. She made the squad for the next year as a junior. A lot of the football jocks were in the habit of watching the tryouts and staking their claim on those that made it. Over the summer Ken Johnson, who turned out to be first string quarterback, started putting the moves on Kathy. He would be a senior and as such, he was desirable from a social point of view. Kathy, of course, was flattered to have his attention, so she didn't discourage him. By the end of July, Jerry was being put off for dates with Kathy. She usually used family obligations as an excuse not to go out with him and he accepted the excuses without question. Toward the end of summer Jerry was without a date and my girlfriend was off on vacation with her family. As it turned out my cousin had just broken up with his girl and wanted a guy's night out. Jerry and I decided that since he had a car, cruising around with him would be better than hanging out at home on a Saturday night.

"At the last minute, we decided to take in a movie at one of the only two drive-ins still operating in our area. It was a double bill and the second film was the one we wanted to see. We got there part way through the first movie and ended up parking nearly as far from the concession stand as you could get. We decided near the end of the first movie we'd beat the rush and head for the concession stand. As we walked there, Jerry was a bit ahead and did a double take as he went by an old Ford, so I looked as we went by. Inside, Ken and Kathy were going at it pretty good. You could see his hand inside her unbuttoned, sleeveless shirt and from the way her bra strap was hanging out over her shoulder it was obvious her boob was bare. Jerry just kept on walking and on the way back he walked the row behind the Ford and pointedly looked away. I felt bad for him, but since he didn't say anything about it I figured he didn't want to talk about it and so I kept my mouth shut.

"I figured that would be the end of Kathy and Jerry, but the next day, Sunday, Jerry was over at her house and took her to Oaks Park the following Friday. Neither Jerry nor I were into sports and Kathy knew it and told Jerry she'd understand if he didn't want to come to the games and watch her do the cheer thing. Jerry stayed away, and kept dating her when she had some free time. It seems that cheerleaders had 'social obligations' that kept her busy a lot. Jerry took the leftovers. It seems that these 'social obligations' involved hanging out with the football team. More than once, we came across several members of the team out on the town and Kathy was always there near Ken.

If it had been me I'd have broken up with her and told her if she needed to attend her 'social obligations' I'd step down and let her go. But Jerry just seemed glad to get whatever time he could. It wasn't until the Thanksgiving break that she took him aside on Wednesday and explained that Ken wasn't happy with her dating him and that he probably shouldn't come around anymore. Now that upset Jerry. He wanted to be with her, even if it was just part time. He was in a funk the rest of the school year. He didn't date again until summer and then I had to fix him up with someone.

You said 'the first one'. There was more than one? I asked.

Yeah, counting Kathy, there were three in all.

Three? What, he attracts unfaithful women?

I'm beginning to think he looked for them on purpose. There were rumors that his mom had a fling while he was in grade school, but I didn't know him until middle school, so I can't really say. If it was true, his folks must have worked it out, because they were married for over forty years before his dad died.

So what was with the next one?

"That would have been Carol Dirk. In our senior year, they hooked up over Christmas vacation and he had bought his class ring early and gave it to her as a symbol they were going steady. Like a lot of girls, she wore it on a chain around her neck. They were hot and heavy for about three months and then for spring break, she went to volunteer at the Easter Seal camp and on Wednesday we decided to make a surprise visit and drove down there. We got there about four in the afternoon and we knew that the last activity for that day was at three that day so the staff could have a break. We thought that she'd be free to go into town for dinner. We were planning to sleep in the car and head home in the morning.

"When we got there, we asked for her and a girl told us she was down by the lake. We approached and could see her across a narrow inlet. She was in the shadows, lying under a tree, necking with some guy. When Jerry saw it, he stopped and stared. They were really going at it; his hands were all over her. I expected Jerry to say something like, 'Let's get out of here,' but he just stood and watched her. It was awkward for me but I stayed quiet waiting to take my cue from him. We must have watched for half an hour before they broke it up and headed back for the main area of the camp. They took a different way than we had and Jerry took off heading on an intercept with them. The way it turned out, they practically walked right into us. The guy still had his arm around her.

"'Jerry, Ron, what are you guys doing here,' she said in surprise.

"'We thought we'd come down and surprise you,' Jerry said, in what I thought was way too casual of a tone.

"'Well you sure did.' The guy still had his arm around her waist with a hand on her hip. He gave her a little shake and raised his eyebrows. 'Oh,' she said, 'this is Mike.' Then to him, 'Jerry and Ron go to school with me.'

"'Nice to meet you guys,' he said, putting out his hand. Jerry shook it and he stuck it out toward me. Confused as to why Jerry wasn't getting all hot, I shook it as well. 'You guys must be good friends to come all the way down here.'

    "'Yeah,' Jerry replied.

"'They hang out with me all the time,' Carol put in. Mike nodded. 'Say, Mike, why don't you go get us a table at the dining hall while I walk the guys back to their car?'

"'Sure, see you there,' he said and headed out. It was clear to me that he was a little confused as to why two guys who were just friends would drive all that way just to surprise her. I also noticed that Jerry's class ring was conspicuous by its absence. It wasn't on the chain around her neck like always.

On the way to the car, Carol said, 'Jerry, I never suspected you'd come way down here. That was so sweet, but it wasn't necessary. You can see that I'm being looked after.' All the while, she was smiling and Jerry was acting like her puppy. At the car, she kissed him affectionately, not passionately like she had Mike and said, Bye, I'll be back on Sunday.'

"Jerry offered to drive and drove us all the way home. He seemed agitated and I kind of regretted letting him drive, because he kind of drove fast… faster than I would have. Again, I thought that would be the end of Carol, but when she came back, he started right back up with her and was happy as a clam. During the summer, they continued to date except for a week when Mike showed up. We stopped by her place to drop off the coat she's left in my car and I heard Carol tell Jerry, 'Mike is in town and because he was so nice to me at camp, I really think I need to show him around. OK? It'll only be a week and then I'll be all yours again… OK?'

"I couldn't believe what I was hearing. What stunned me even more was Jerry agreeing to it. She kissed him one of those affectionate kisses and walked out to the street where Mike had pulled up, waiting and left with him.

In the fall, she went to school in California and he never saw her again. I don't even know if he even got his class ring back.

Wow, he just accepted that this Mike guy could show up in town and take over his steady girl friend?

"Yeah, he seemed actually to be really excited when she came back to him and you'd have thought she did him a great big favor. I can't say that I understand, but Jerry just rolled with it and enjoyed her company when she was there.

As you know, Jerry and I went to school in state. Jerry dated our freshman and sophomore years, but he bounced around a lot and never really settled on any girl for very long. He said that they just weren't right for him. I figured he was kind of gun-shy what with two girls blatantly messing around on him. But then in our junior year, he met Lori and she turned him on. She was a sorority girl, but her sorority wasn't affiliated with our frat, so she had some times when she needed to go places and do things with her sisters. Jerry didn't seem to mind and after they dated for three months, he proposed and she accepted. Nothing really changed, except she wore his ring.

"Wait a minute. He was engaged to Lori? I thought, though I don't know why, that Marge was his first choice. I wonder if she knows he was engaged before. Oh what the hell. Given what's going on now, it couldn't make any difference.

    So what happened?

"Lori was from the other end of the state and they did the long distance relationship over the summer. When we came back for our senior year, Lori was elected to some office in the sorority and had even less time for Jerry. She began acting as some kind of liaison between the sorority and the frat they were affiliated with. That included attending parties that Jerry couldn't go to. Then we'd see her around campus with some big jock. And one night, I saw her at the local watering hole where a lot of the frat guys hung out. She was hanging on that guy. I cornered her in the hall on the way to the restroom and asked her, 'You seem awfully chummy with that guy for a girl who's engaged to my best friend.'

She just looked at me and said, 'Jerry knows all about him and he's OK with me and him.' Just like that I was dismissed. In the morning I tried to be casual about it when I told Jerry I'd seen her. He just said, 'Oh yeah, that would have been Frank. He's the activity officer at Lambda. She needs to coordinate with him about the joint activities. I think he's got the hots for her. I don't blame him. Any guy who spent much time with her would. I'm not worried. She's wearing my ring.' Jerry smiled. I wondered about it until Jerry and I were out one Friday and we saw them together. Jerry went over and talked to them and smiled and laughed a bit, she gave him a peck and he came back to our table. 'She's going to be busy with him all night, but we're still on for tomorrow.' At that point I just quit worrying about his relationship. Then at Christmas time, she broke it off with him and gave him his ring back before she went off with Frank for Christmas.

He was down again and come Spring Break, he and I went to Cabo and partied hard. My mom got sick and I got a call. I ended up going home two days early and Jerry stayed and partied. When I got back to school Jerry was all excited about Marge. The rest is history."

So it's kind of in Jerry's history to share his women?

    Seems like it, Ron agreed.

You know Marge was kind of worried that when you found out, you'd abandon Jerry….

What? Not on a bet. I was there when the others did their thing. I'll be there for him now. I only hope that Marge doesn't run off with Mark. I don't think Jerry could handle that. It's one thing when a girlfriend dumps you but they've been married to for eight years.

According to her, Mark isn't interested in marriage. He just likes having a part-time sex partner.

That night, Ron really came onto me and we had sex reminiscent of our honeymoon. I think he was trying to affirm that we were solid. But you know I liked having him hot again. Our sex life had become a little humdrum and it was nice to see some fire in it.

Two weeks later, I had planned to go to with Marge to an opening of a new mall across town. She seemed a little surprised when I showed up to pick her up. Oh, I spaced out about what time you were coming to get me. Give me ten minutes to change and we'll go, she told me. But I'm thinking she expected I'd not want to go after she told me her story.

I'm almost sorry I did. We both tried hard, but it was just awkward. I mean we said the same things, and did everything we usually did, but we were distracted ignoring the five hundred pound gorilla that was following us around.

Ron and Jerry were supposed to meet for lunch on a Saturday after that and Jerry stood him up. It wasn't any real big deal, they were just going to check out some salvage yards to see if they could find parts for the old Chevy that Jerry had in his garage. Then the following week, Jerry was supposed to come over and help Ron replace some boards on our deck and then they were going to fire up the barbecue and we'd have them for dinner.

Ron went out and started tearing up the deck and said to send Jerry out when he got there. Three hours later, Ron asked, Did Jerry call?

    No, I told him.

Hum. That's not like him. He went back out and for another hour, he screwed down the replacement boards. When he came back in, he said, I'm going over to see what wrong with Jerry. I'll be back after a while.

About an hour or so later, I got a call. Are the steaks out of the freezer? Ron wanted to know.

Well yeah. What? You think I put them back in the freezer?

Just checking; we'll be there in a few minutes. Could you go out and light the barbecue and put the potatoes in? I'll throw the stakes on when I get there. Marge and Jerry are coming over like we planned.

Is everything OK? Why didn't they come over before?

Later OK? Ron replied and hung up.

    -=#=-

Ron had done his magic at the grill, we had eaten and Marge and I were cleaning up in the kitchen. I guess we should talk some, huh? I mean, we really haven't had time to really talk since I unloaded on you about Mark and me.

OK, the guys have already commandeered the TV, let's take some wine out on the deck and enjoy the cool of the evening.

Marge loaded the last of the dishes in the dishwasher and I grabbed a bottle of white wine out of the fridge and a couple of glasses.

We settled on the lounge chairs and Marge began. "Look, the other day, I unloaded a lot on you. I just kind of rambled on and on. It was so great to finally be able to talk to someone about it. It's been tough to keep a secret like that. I didn't give you a chance to ask questions and have the kind of input a friend should have.

And Jerry… Jerry was beside himself when he found out that you'd already said something to Ron. He was sure that Ron would never speak to him again and lose all respect for him. But they spent an hour while Ron asked Jerry just where he stood on this and I realized that you needed to come to grips with what I'd told you and I hadn't given you the chance. So this session you ask and I'll answer. She gave me a sheepish smile and sipped her wine.

Well, there are some things about all this that concern me, I told her. Jerry is Ron's best friend and I think of you guys as family. But I have to wonder just where this is all going. Is this some kind of transitional phase? Will there come a time when you live with Mark and Jerry will be on his own? Then the thoughts get really confused. I mean when you and Mark go full-time do you and Jerry divorce? …

Whoa, slow down, she interrupted. No, there will be no divorce. Oh God, how do I explain this? Do you know what a fuck buddy is?

I'd heard the term, so I nodded and said, I think so.

"It's someone who really means nothing to you with whom you have sex. Kind of like a 'friend with benefits,' only it doesn't have to even be that close. Mark and I are more like fuck buddies; he's certainly no more than a friend with benefits. I'd have never let the relationship with Mark reach that level if Jerry hadn't engineered the dates I told you about the
