    Chapter One -- Super Sonic

A daring, young firefly speeds toward the Great Glow Fest. Two thousand citizens from Swampton and Bugville wait for hundreds of fireflies to perform. What a thrill they will get tonight, for this is the night of no moon.

Fearless Freddie thinks about the first event. Two of his toughest challengers in Speed Diving are Sorg and Prax. But, most of all, Freddie worries about five-time winner, Drott.

He quickly develops a daring plan to win the contest. Each firefly will dive off a hummingbird hovering twenty feet off the ground. The flier will gain as much speed as possible during the dive. Then, they must level off before passing through four rings.

The hummingbird reaches the proper height and Freddie signals the ref. Hey Freddie, you set to go?

Ready anytime you are. Freddie pulls down his aviator goggles and adjusts his helmet. He re-adjusts his elbow and kneepads before peering over the edge. Everything looks so small, so far away. He’s happy to see the well-lit runway.

Freddie tells himself, Here goes. This one's for me. Freddie takes a deep breath and dives off the hummingbird. Right from the start, Freddie isn’t happy with his speed. It’s time to
