Deceptions of the Enemy - What Does God Say? - Lynda Turner
Preface
Deceptions of the Enemy…you won’t know what the deceptions of the Enemy, the devil, satan are if you continue to be deceived unaware. May the blinders the veils and the complacency of your heart be removed as you read each chapter of this book.
In this book you’ll read true stories of real people just like you. You’ll see firsthand how the Enemy deceived these people and then the truth will be revealed by, "What does God say?" from His Word the Holy Bible. Historical records will be noted as, "History reports. You’ll be asked to
Think about it,
Consider this, then
Ask God" throughout this book. It won’t be difficult so keep reading.
Discover in this book why people struggle with life here on earth, people like you and me and why the Enemy, your enemy, the devil, satan wants you to struggle. His intent on your life is malicious and his goal is to kill you, steal from you and destroy your life.
Life doesn’t have to be this way. No one has to harbor animosity towards God or strike their hand towards heaven over their circumstances. God has every answer for your life in His Word. You can find peace. You can possess joy. Consider this: you’re a spirit being living in an earthly body created by God Most High to live forever. So the question is where will you spend eternity?
If you’re not accustomed to ASKING GOD, What is your Will God
for decisions concerning your life, let this book open your eyes of understanding to read the Word every day and to talk to God, and don’t forget to wait for Him to talk to you. He will if you’ll listen.
In other words, if you’re running your own life analyzing everything, making decisions on your own and nothing is working out, let this book serve as a wakeup call to wake up
the deadness in you. God has been waiting on you all this time to develop a relationship of communication and love with Him.
Know this for sure: Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He is absolutely trustworthy; He is unfailing, He is certain, and Jesus Christ is exempt from liability to error from persons, their judgments, or their pronouncements. The Holy Bible is infallible. God’s Word, The Holy Bible, stands strong no matter what any man in any position declares.
Think about it:
Jesus was beaten beyond recognition by men,
then hung on a tree for men.
Chapter One
Deceptions of the Enemy
Observation: Mainstream America has drifted away from God.
Why? We’ve been deceived by our Enemy, the devil, satan!
We’ve become desensitized, even ignorant to the deceptions of the Enemy, the devil, satan. As God speaks I write this book for knowledge to become wisdom and understanding in your heart and mind. Take a look now at what God says.
What does God say?
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Proverbs 4:7
Think about it: You may believe that you’re living a very sincere life. Even if you are living a sincere life in your eyes, you may be living sincerely wrong
.
Take a close look at how the deceptions of the Enemy are exposed in this book. The signs of deception are on every corner and the voice of deception is speaking to every ear that will listen. You may ask, "What is the deception of the Enemy, the devil, satan and how does it affect me?"
Think about it: You are the enemy of the Enemy. Whether you are saved or not saved, whether you believe in God or do not believe there is a God, you are still the enemy of the Enemy. The Enemy, the devil, satan hates you.
If you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, consider that your name is on the bulletin board of hell under Most Wanted
. This is a dynamic thought about a dramatic fact. The Enemy’s war is against God and all God’s creation and he works hard to turn you against God. If you listen to the Enemy he will offer you lust and pride to guide you.
In this book the only and final authority is the Word of God.
What does God say about the Enemy, the devil, satan?
And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Daniel 7:25-27
Daniel 7:25 says the Enemy’s purpose is to wear out the saints. It may appear in the 21st century that the Enemy is making headway in ‘taking over’ planet earth as most of us feel frazzled and worn out from the Enemy’s attacks on our lives.
Know for certain that God will not allow the Enemy to take over as it states at the end Daniel 7:25-27.
The message of this book is inspired by the heart of God to remove ignorance from your mind and heart about the Enemy, the devil, satan. If you think you know who the Enemy is and what he does, take an even closer look.
Beware of the deceptions of the Enemy!
If you haven’t read your Bible in a while or if you’re willing to admit that you don’t read the Bible at all or like you should
, we’ll let that go for now because all scriptures are written out for you in this book from the King James Version (KJV). If you think the KJV is too difficult to understand, you’ll see firsthand that the KJV is very plain and easy to understand. Perhaps the Enemy told YOU that the KJV is difficult to read. Perhaps this is one of the Enemy’s deceptions
in your life that keep you from reading the Bible each day. Perhaps this is something you need to examine. If you’ll commit to read the scriptures in this book you will find truth.
Let’s look at a few of the most obvious deceptions of the Enemy that he whispers to you:
Arguing (go ahead
the Enemy whispers, lash out at them)
Lying (don’t you tell the truth, they’ll come against you, he whispers)
Stealing (nobody’s looking, go ahead, take it, he whispers)
Distractions (he’s the perfect man for you even if he drinks, smokes and does drugs, the Enemy whispers)
Perversion (go ahead to the strip club, your wife won’t know, he whispers)
Rebellion (run away, that’ll teach them, the Enemy whispers)
Temptation (go ahead beat him up, shoot him right now, he whispers)
Confusion (go ahead take a drink, you’re not an alcoholic, he whispers)
Interruptions (go ahead, answer that call from your old girlfriend, he whispers)
Abuse (slam her against the wall, that’ll fix her, he whispers)
Drugs and Alcohol (get high man, don’t listen to them, it’s good, the Enemy whispers)
Are any of these deceptions a part of your life? Do you hear the whispers of the Enemy, the devil, satan encouraging you to participate in anything listed above?
Think about it: satan speaks ONLY NEGATIVE things in your ears. It doesn’t matter to the Enemy if you ever go to church, if you work on Sundays or go to church every day. He’s out to destroy your life.
What does God say?
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." Proverbs 3:5-7
In these verses in Proverbs God is right on target giving you every truth about trusting Him on life issues.
If someone walked up to you on the street today and told you Christmas really isn’t what you think, would you take the time to listen or would you just ‘keep on keeping on’ with TRADITION?
I asked my neighbor about Christmas tradition vs. truth
and he said, I’m going to take the holiday and be with my family. No matter what it is I don’t care. If my employer wants to pay me for a holiday, I’m taking it.
What he said in essence was, if he can get a day off and get paid for it, he’s sticking with tradition.
Will you stick to tradition? The Enemy wants the traditions of mankind to reign. After all, the Enemy, the devil, satan spends all his time influencing you to do evil. The Enemy will do everything he can to keep you believing his lies, his traditions.
The theme throughout this book will be to take a look at the Enemy’s deception against mankind and then, "What does God say". Don’t take God’s Word lightly. After all He created the world we live in.
What does God say?
Hear Instruction and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For who findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord.
Proverbs 8:33-35
Right here at the beginning of this book, know that God’s Word stands. Don’t be tempted by the Enemy to breeze over the Scriptures. Read each one. God is not playing. Your time is short. Our time is short on this earth.
Chapter Two
I’m Pagan
The Enemy’s plan is to bend your ear towards his evil ways,
to bend your will to oppose God!
True story: Imagine the shock of meeting a beautiful 23 year old girl in Lakeland, Florida during her work day at a large department store when she responded to our question, Are you a Christian?
with this answer,
"I’m a Witch, I’m Pagan"
The rest of her responses were just as shocking:
I used to be a Christian
I don’t believe in Jesus anymore
The Bible is nothing but a pack of lies
I believe there is a higher power, a God, but not the Christian God
"Paganism was around before Jesus"
I worship nature outdoors
My husband used to be a
Christian" too, he’s also Pagan"
We have a young son who will be given the right to believe what he wants
She informed my husband and me in a very matter of fact way that she was only being nice to us because we were customers in the store yet she continued to stand there on her own for about twenty minutes talking with us. Her eyes reflected bewilderment when we spoke about God and the Lord Jesus. She informed us that Paganism was around before Jesus.
Imagine her shock when I said, "Jesus was around before Paganism. Her eyes glazed over when mentioned Genesis the first chapter, verse 26 when God spoke,
Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness…." We reminded her that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit existed before time began, before God created Earth. She’d heard this truth before and yet she still denied everything we said.
We experienced signs that the evil spirit(s) in and around her were agitating her. The demons of anger, resentment, confusion, and rebellion enraged her temper. She denied the Bible again and again. She denied the truth of the Bible yet she still stayed right there listening and talking with us. She denied the Deity of God. Each time we mentioned a Bible text she would deny the Word of God. She had been indoctrinated well in pagan beliefs.
My husband and I told her we would pray for her and she asked us not to. We said goodbye to this young woman and told her we’d pray for her anyway each day for God to have His Way with her to come back to Christ before she stands before Him.
Her choice to be a Witch and Pagan seemed confusing even to her because of the spiritual battle going on for her soul. Her responses seemed rehearsed, like she had been drilled to respond in a defensive manner to deny God. This is an example that someone must believe something exists before someone can deny it exists, and in this instance she previously believed in God’s existence before she could now deny God’s existence. She knows He is real.
What does God say?
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." II Peter 3:9
God is not willing that anyone perish.
Declaring you’re Pagan is one thing. Declaring you are a Witch opens up the occult. The Enemy, the devil, satan deceived her with witchcraft, just one of the Enemy’s tools, and she gives satan free reign of her mind as she continues to deny the true and living God.
History reports: "Paganism involves the worship of nature and millions of mythological gods and goddesses. Wicca and/or Wiccans is one of the fastest growing Pagan religions in the world worshipping millions of gods and goddesses."
History reports: "Pagan is a Latin term from Paganus referring to the country dwellers or people who lived outside the Roman cities in ancient days. These Pagans related themselves to crops, raising cattle and gave attention to weather and seasons."
What does God Say?
"Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain…." Jeremiah 10:1-3
God’s Word says the customs of the heathens, the Pagans are in vain. The Dictionary describes vain as: excessively proud of or concerned about one’s own achievements; conceited; personal vanity; ineffectual or unsuccessful; futile; without real significance, value, or importance; baseless or worthless; improper or irreverent.
True story: The second young woman that I met professing to be Pagan and a Witch is a 26 year old girl who lives in my home town. She arrived at the auto parts store dressed in a leather jacket, leather shorts and black knee length boots. Her nails were polished black, her hair was dyed black; she wore black leather gloves with the fingers cut out and had many tattoos all over her body along with piercings on every part of her head and face. I started a conversation with her by asking if it hurt to receive a tattoo.
She laughed a little and said, it hurts a lot the first time but the more you have them put on it’s not so bad
.
I asked her, Are you a Christian, do she know Jesus
? She replied, "No I’m Pagan, I’m a Witch". Since I’d already met one Witch, I wasn’t surprised at her answers. They were similar to the first Pagan Witch:
I used to be a Christian
I don’t believe in Jesus anymore
I don’t believe in the Bible
I believe there is a higher power but not God
I worship nature outdoors
"Paganism was around before Jesus"
I didn’t feel the satanic evil spirits agitating her like the first young woman claiming to be a Pagan Witch. I definitely saw a twinkle in her eyes as she looked straight into my eyes when I told her that no matter what she used to believe in or now believes in that God sent his Son Jesus to die for her sins. I told her that her sins are already paid for by the blood Jesus shed for mankind and that people don’t go to hell because their sins aren’t forgiven. I told her people go to hell because they don’t accept Jesus’ blood payment and they don’t accept Him as their Savior. Know what she told me? She said, I know all that.
I just don’t believe.
Very tenderly I said, That’s exactly the truth, you don’t believe, but God’s mercy covers you and He’s waiting for you to believe and receive His Son Jesus.
I told her, The Heavenly Father is waiting for you
.
It’s up to her now. We ended the conversation and said our goodbyes. My prayer as I left the store was, "Have your way Lord with Pagan Witches and Warlocks".
The Enemy is deceiving and tempting young and old people worldwide to get involved in Paganism which develops into complete rebellion and an unwilling spirit towards God thereby destroying the life God gave them.
Paganism takes on many forms, not just as Pagans, Witches and Warlocks. Believing only in yourself is Paganism.
Not having any belief at all is Paganism. Denying God in any way is Paganism. Complete rebellion against God and His Ways is Paganism.
The synonym for Paganism is Heathen!
That’s God’s final answer!
To deny God you have to first believe He exists!
Nothing is hidden from God!
What does God Say (about Pagans)?
"And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’s house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east. Ezekiel 8:15-16
They worshipped the sun, not the Creator of the sun. People of planet earth, were it not for the merciful blood of Jesus Christ we would not be here right now, guaranteed. God’s unending, enduring mercy covers the greatest of sins if we repent. God says worshipping the sun and the creation are abominations to HIM. Look below at II Kings 23. Pray for Pagans and Witches that worship the sun and the creation and not the Creator.
What else does God Say? (about Pagans)
"And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel. And he put down the idolatrous priests, whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah, and in the places round about Jerusalem; them also that burned incense unto Baal, to the sun, and to the moon, and to the planets, and to all the host of heaven." II Kings 23:4-5
Let’s take a look at festivals especially Roman Pagan festivals. How many Pagan festivals or Pagan ‘holidays’ as we call them does America celebrate each year? Bunches: St. Patrick’s Day, May Day, Fat Tuesday to name just a few.
History reports: "the Roman Pagans had from 100 to 150 holidays/festivals a year." Did you know that fact? Everyone stopped work at festival time.
History reports: The following are Roman Pagan Holidays/Festivals" celebrating idol gods and goddesses:
"January 1st new Consuls were sworn in to thank Jupiter for his protection."
"February 13th-21st was Parentalia; the day in honor of dead parents. People would visit parent’s graves and bring milk, wine and flowers so their dead parents would not get hungry or thirsty."
"February 15th is Lupercalia, a ceremony for women who want to have children. Two groups of young men gathered at the "lupercal’ which was a cave on the Palatine. The youths raced around the hill as crowds watched. These racers were dressed in sacrificed goatskin, and were smeared with blood. As they ran, they whipped goatskin at the spectators. The women had to stand near the race to be whipped because the whipping was said to promote fertility. It is said this is what turned in to Valentine’s Day."
"February 22ndCaristia, a happy feast concluding Parentalia"
"March 15th a festival was held for Anna Perenna, the goddess of the year. People believed they would live the number of years
