According to the foremost essayist, Ralph Waldo Emerson, one of our greatest desires is to see that person who will either say a word that will inspire us or perform an act that will stimulate the genius in us when we find ourselves in the pit of despondency.

And that is because, no one gets to the point of doing exploits without hearing or reading the words of exploits. For in hearing or reading those words, the individual is immersed in a fresh ocean of courage, joy, enthusiasm and faith.

And when he has learned the virtues of a joy-filled heart, he then receives the grace and vigor to be able to talk himself or herself out of any form of mental decadence and stupor.

And just like King David in the Bible, such a man or woman will then know how to talk like this:

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God Psalm 43:5 "

So, the purpose of this book is to get you to the point where you can rise to the occasion and ask your soul or your mind, emotion and willpower to brace up like a lion and stop hanging on the crutches of excuses of any kind.

It is, therefore, my prayer that a particular word or phrase from this book will radiate into your mind like fire, and roast up every trace of discouragement in you…Because, a word of encouragement, indeed, never hinders anyone.
