Lakshmi Krishnadas Pai has an M.A. degree in Philosophy from India and M.A. degree in Psychology from California, where she worked as a Lecturer. A performing artist of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music, she is also a composer and teacher. Krishnadas and Lakshmi have made their home at Nisarga Layout,Bangalore.

ಅನುರಾಗ ರಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವರಭೇದ ಬಂದಂತೆ

ಪರಮಾರ್ಥ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲು ಯಾಕೆ?

ಇಷ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು ಅಷ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು

ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಅವನಿಗೆ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಟ್ಟವನಿಗೆ

ಪರಮಾರ್ಥ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲು ಯಾಕೆ?

ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವರ ಬೇಕು

ಸ್ವರದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಯ ಬೇಕು

ಶ್ವಾಸತಾಳಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ

ದೇವ ನಿನ್ನ ದಯೆ ಬೇಕು

ನಿನ್ನ ಕರುಣೆಯ ಸಾಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ ಇರುವಾಗ

ನಾನು, ನನ್ನದು, ನನಗೆ ಈ ಚಿಂತೆ ಯಾಕೆ?

ನಾನು ಯಾಕೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ದೇವ ನನ್ನದು ಯಾಕೆ

ಪರಮಾರ್ಥ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಲು ಯಾಕೆ?

1-Why?

Why the thorns in the midst of fragrant flowers?

Why the lies in the midst of truth?

And, like the discordant notes that mar a melody,

why the stones in one’s spiritual path?

They gave this much. They gave that much.

What did they give and why?

Was it with devotion?

Was it from the heart?

Having given without devotion, without heart,

why the talk of giving anything to HIM

who has given everything to us in the first place?

Why this stone in the path of spiritual pursuit?

Speech needs melody.

Melody needs rhythm.

And, in every beat of breath, each and every moment,

God we need your grace.

When I am surrounded by the sea of your mercy,

why should I worry about ‘ME’, and ‘MINE’?

Why ‘ME’ God, and why ‘MINE’?

Why such stones in the path to salvation?

ಮಾನಸ ಭ್ರಂದಾವನ

ಮಾನಸ ಭ್ರಂದಾವನ, ಭ್ರಂದಾವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ರಿಷ್ಣ

ಅಂದ ಚಂದ ಮನೋಹರ, ಸೂರ್ಯ ತೇಜಸ್ವಿಚಂದ್ರ ವದನ

ಮಾನಸ ಭ್ರಂದಾವನ.....

ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ರೂಪ

ಏನು ಕೇಳಿದರೂ ಮುರಳಿಯ ಸ್ವರ

ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಮಾಧುರ್ಯದ ಹರ್ಷೊತ್ಸವ

ನಿನ್ನದು ಕರುಣೆ ಸರ್ವೆಶ್ವರ

ಮಾನಸ ಭ್ರಂದಾವನ.....

ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದರ್ಶನ

ಮನಸ್ಸಿನೊಳಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಆರಾಧನ

ಇವಕಿಂತ ಬೇರೆ ನನಗೇನು ಬೇಕು

ನಿನೇ ಗತಿ ನನಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ರಿಷ್ಣ

ಮಾನಸ ಭ್ರಂದಾವನ.....

In the Brandavana of my heart dwells Shri Krishna.

He is charming and attractive…………

Brilliant as the sun and beautiful as the moon………..

All that I see is your image.

All that I hear is the sound of your flute.

It is a celebration of beauty and melody.

It is your blessing God.

To be able to see you in my heart…………………

To be able to worship you in my heart……………

What more can I ask for Krishna?

You are my only sanctuary Shri Krishna.
