THE STONEMASON’S PLAYGROUND

I pedaled away from the house as fast as I could. I didn’t know where I was going, but anywhere was better than staying there.

Rain started coming down AGAIN! It rained almost every afternoon, but at least it was a warm rain. It was much better than staying in that house another minute.

At least the rain hid my tears. I knew I was just feeling sorry for myself, but I didn’t care. I hated my creepy cousins.

I didn’t know what I was going to do. I had to spend the whole summer with my cousins. I would never forgive my dad for this.

My dad and I had spent last summer digging for bones together, and I had actually found one! It wasn’t a big dinosaur, but it was unique. Then my dad went and
