About this ebook

A Rainbow of Thanks is a children's chapter book for ages 8 and up and it follows a young girl one day as she travels the world on a rainbow.
Kate was disappointed that she was given a school assignment on her birthday weekend and more so that her birthday gifts were a little old-school. So that Saturday, she decided to go to the park and play rather than write her essay on cultures.

However, after a quick rain shower, Kate accidentally stepped inside of a rainbow and was transported somewhere very far away from home. During her travels, trying to get back home, she met many other children along the way and discussed with them their culture's beliefs about rainbows.

By the time she got home she had an amazing story to tell, one that eventually got her into a lot of trouble, but fortunately, something arrived that proved her story and shocked the adults in her life.

Travel, tradition and trials, Kate goes through it all.

    -

An arc or circle that exhibits in concentric bands the colors of the spectrum and that is formed opposite the sun by the refraction and reflection of the sun's rays in raindrops, spray, or mist.

That’s what Webster’s Dictionary had to say about a rainbow, but as for me, I’d like to go with words that I regularly use in English.

To me, a rainbow is a colorful arch spread out over the sky in front of a rain cloud, lit up by the sunlight behind you. The rainbow is made up of seven colors - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. And, a rainbow is the most magical and exciting creation on earth!

    -Chapter 1 - Introduction

Hi! My name is Kate. I’m 11 years old, just had a birthday, and boy that was a strange weekend! But before I tell you about my most incredible weekend ever, I should probably take a few steps back to that Friday morning.

It all started in English class with my teacher Mrs. Guffy. My friends call her Mrs. Tuffy because she always gives us a ton of homework, and today, she decided to assign us homework . . . over the weekend . . . on my birthday! And not just any homework, a hand-written report! I had to write a report about another culture of people on my birthday weekend! Like there is really anything out there besides America and China. America is where I live, and China is where all the cool toys and clothes come from. But she swore there were
