About this ebook

During this time, she tried to overcome denial and self-hate, along with trying many fat loss diets; they did little to keep the weight off, which resulted in her yo-yoing.

In her book 'My Life In The Fat Lane' Natasha shares her trials -- facing the fact that she became a contributing factor to her own health care, and triumphs by changing her eating habits, and re-educating herself about nutrition.

Author

Natasha Martelly

Over a period of 18+ years, Natasha was held ransom by the possible onset of health implications. Being less than 5'2 and weighing over 15+ stones (210+ lbs. / 95+ kg), she spent many of those years trying and researching fat loss programs, the majority of which saw her weight yo-yoing throughout the years; none helped to keep the pounds off.Back then she felt that there either wasn't enough support for overweight people on a nutritional stance, or the ever-increasing amount of information available was overwhelming, which increased her anxiety. She began to change her eating habits, and ultimately found that making nutrition and lifestyle changes helped her to regain a sense of control, with the added knowledge that she was a contributing factor to her own health care.Over the years using lessons learnt she set in place personal changes in diet and lifestyle that have greatly impacted her life, both physically and emotionally.Natasha does not claim to be a qualified nutritional expert or dietician. For such counsel, she recommends you seek medical practitioner guidance.

    Introduction

This is the third edition of ‘My Life In The Fat Lane.’ The purpose is to give an update of where I am today and share what tools and tips I use to make my life easier and maintain my body composition to date achievable.

Honestly, sometimes I have to wonder if my brain realises that I can hear it’s every thought and we are connected, because even though consciously I know what is best, it still tries to trick or sabotage me even now. So I morph into investigative trouble shooter and enter into thought-shower to counter and out manoeuvre it. One of my personality traits is tenaciousness and I play this to my advantage. If it’s a competition it wants, a competition it will get, because I... Natasha of Martelly, will win (kisses her biceps)!

Nevertheless, I hold my hands up and must admit that I firmly believe my continued body fat management success is partly to do with my exclusive living, in that I am not tempted by products, say a partner, or kids would indulge in, as I have neither at the time of this publication.

In addition, I can be lazy at times and if a naughty food I fancy isn’t in my home, there is no way I’m going out to buy it. Laziness in this capacity, I endorse. This is not to say I am not tempted by foods when out and about, but knowing thy self, I’m aware I’m more vulnerable to bad food choices when home alone (hmmm… spy camera just sprung to mind).

However, should my situation change in the future to disrupt my fixed routine, I will be sure to disclose. But I will do my damndest to ensure it doesn’t affect me negatively.

Still, the over saturation of dieting plans and advice (Eeek! Am I guilty of adding to this?) leads me to empathise with you when researching what fat loss eating plan is right for you. I appreciate the mass of information out there now with the continuous online
