After reading this book, if you come to the conclusion that it is simply made up, and not at all true, don't feel too bad: I won't blame you! For the accounts you are about to experience do seem unbelievable, at least for those who have always thought that clairvoyance, and so-called psychic ability, were little more than self-delusion, or crooked attempts to dupe the gullible out of their money.

Years ago, I myself believed just that. Yet that was before I had a series of encounters with people who not only professed to be psychic, but whose incredible clairvoyant abilities ended up convincing me, beyond any reasonable doubt, that such powers do indeed exist.

The stories you are about to read, as unbelievable as they may sound, are in fact all truthful accounts of what I experienced in sessions with psychics.

By nature a skeptic, I had a hard time accepting the claim that a person could somehow see things about your life - past, present, or even future - without having access to this information through normal means.

How could it be possible, for example, for an old man to merely hold a photo of someone in his hand, and without even looking at it, to tell you about the person depicted: personality, character traits, problems - even whether or not that person is still alive? Yet this is exactly what I witnessed, not with a single photo, but with more than fifty, during my visits to Herr Neumeyer in Germany, back in 1978. This gentleman had previously not known me at all, and certainly didn't know my friends or family members in the States. Yet on one occasion after the other, he was able to tell me all sorts of things about the people whose photos I handed him - and without even looking at the photos, mind you!

It was those meetings, that took place over the course of a number of months, that changed me from total skeptic, to a believer in such phenomena. After all, seeing is believing, as the saying goes.

And if I still harbored any doubts about whether clairvoyance was possible, those doubts were completely dispelled over the next fifteen years, as I happened to meet a number of other psychics, whose abilities were, in part, even more amazing. True, along the way, I also met others who claimed to be psychic, yet who were either obvious frauds, or else were deceiving themselves as to their sixth sense. Fortunately, being a rather analytical thinker by nature, I have always been able to gauge the probability of the existence of true clairvoyance in an individual by using probability calculations as a trustworthy guide (examples of this process can be found in this the book).

Yet there is one question that still plagues me, as far as my encounters with true psychics are concerned: why me? Most people do not have the privilege of meeting not only one, but nine or ten real psychics in their lifetimes. And from 1978-1993, the period mainly dealt with in this book, I wasn't generally looking for such unusual people; I just happened to meet them. Coincidence? Or was my subconscious mind guiding me to these individuals, perhaps so that I might change my consciously-held views as to the extent of human mental capacity? I still don't know. But I do know that the experiences I had with these remarkable people transformed my way of thinking, and ultimately, my entire view of life.

But don't expect to be reading here any attempts to convert you to my own beliefs. I will leave it to you to draw your own conclusions. My sole purpose in writing this book has been to recount these, perhaps the most fascinating episodes of my life, so that others, who have not (yet?) had the good fortune to have similar experiences may at least be given the chance to learn about the phenomenon of clairvoyance, from the perspective of someone - namely, myself - who is not a natural believer, but who has always let reason be his guide.

I no longer am in contact with any of the psychics you will soon be reading about here, except for one. However, while preparing this volume, I thought it might be enlightening to interview certain modern-day psychics, in order to question them about how they work, the kinds of visions they have, what it feels like to be psychic, and the like. For this purpose, I managed to find three psychics who work through the internet, and who were able to convince me that yes, they do possess real ability in this area (one that is generally dominated by frauds, truth be told). Each of these three genuine psychics granted me a lengthy interview, that I decided to make available to everyone, not just the purchasers of my book.
