Acknowledgments
Completing this book marks a major milestone on my journey to create the next Chapter of my life. Like many authors before me, intuitively I knew, deep in my being, that the writer in me would some day emerge. For me, some day has finally arrived. The bottle has been uncorked, and the genie unleashed.
There are so many people who deserve acknowledgment for their support and encouragement as I completed this, the first of many, book writing projects. The list could fill a book. My apologies in advance to those who deserve special recognition that have not been recognized here. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you for your support.
First, I acknowledge my family, starting with my wonderful husband, Akbar. His love and faith in me has been the wind beneath my wings for the last twenty years. Next, there is my daughter Shannita. I am so proud of her. She leads my promotion team, and is responsible for production of this book. I’d also like to acknowledge my parents, particularly my Mom, the fabulous Miss Dottie B., who taught me that I could be and do anything I set my mind to. I credit her with instilling in me the courage to pursue my dream of becoming an engineer when peers and teachers tried to convince me that my lot in life was to be a secretary. I am forever grateful.
Supporters who deserve recognition include:
Joyce Haynes, who does her best to keep me organized. I must admit, she has a tough job. Joyce is a dear friend and my family has effectively adopted her. Thanks Joyce, I don’t know what I would do without you. Next, there are my friends Joann and Laverne, the closest I have ever come to having sisters.
Rounding out my A-list of supporters are my Dream Team and my Mastermind Group. My dream team consists of my husband, Akbar, my daughter, Shannita, and my friend, Joyce mentioned above. The Dream Team also includes Theresa, my web designer, James whose company hosts my websites, and Nancy, my CPA. The Mastermind Group ladies are Dr. Jo, Linda, and Shauna. We support each others’ goals and dreams and keep each other accountable for working our plans to turn our individual dreams into reality.
Acknowledgements are appropriate for everyone who influenced my transition from corporate citizen to entrepreneur. Thanks to Fran and company at the Academy for Coach Training, for introducing me to professional coaching. I found coaching at a time in my life when I knew in my heart that it was time for me to reinvent myself and move on to the next Chapter of my life. Coaching
