About the Author
Introduction: A Note from the Author
Every since I can remember I’ve love being creative. I love anything that involves the imagination. I love anything that involves creating something out of nothing—or taking something and turning it into something else even more spectacular.
I fell in love with theater and performing at a very young age, but I was also in love with writing and crafts and sewing and making things with Popsicle sticks, or aluminum foil, or rhinestones, or rocks and leaves. In this book I share some of my ideas, my thoughts and my perspective on various topics in a variety of ways.
I had fun putting this book together. The title of this book, They Are Not Going to Save Us is the lead essay in this book. However, the title is also appropriate because I know it has been the arts, creativity and my imagination that has ‘saved’ me and allowed me to remain standing in the face of many difficult challenges.
Knowing that the answers are within me—that all of us have been born with an inmate wisdom and intelligence that most of us have forgotten how to tap into has given me the strength to take full responsibility for my life. Through many of the writings in this book I encourage the reader to be quiet, go within, and understand that you are already victorious.
The solutions to our challenges will not come from the ‘powers that be’ or the powerful people or systems outside of us. The answers will come from the power within us. We must find and create our own realities and not allow anything outside of us to dictate who we are and limit what we can do.
I create with the understanding that creativity and my imagination takes me away from the 3-D world. While I am away, ideas, answers, and solutions as to what I must do to resolve any ‘seemingly’ unpleasant issues will come to me effortlessly.
As I sit here today, I understand that I could either focus on financial challenges—or, I could create.
Enjoy!
Peace,
Wambui

They Are Not Going To Save Us
I am convinced there are some things that they do not want YOU to know about YOU. If you knew who you really are and what you are capable of, you would be healthier and happier — and richer. Most of us, however, have adopted the idea that so-called experts know what is best for us. Therefore, we entrust our power, and our money, to the government, health care systems, educational systems, insurance companies, and various other agencies set up to protect us.
