About this ebook

Walk into any casino, and there is one section where the action is fast and furious. Players are whooping it up, and it sounds like one big party. You approach the area, and, squeezing through the crowd, you discover a long green felted table with a myriad of complex, confusing symbols. You hear voices, but while you can recognize the words, it seems they are in language you’ve never heard before – at least, you have no idea what they mean: “Eighter from Decatur,” “Six and one and you’re all done,” “It’s Little Joe,” and “Seven's a bruiser, the front line's a loser.”

Does baby need a new pair of shoes? Of course, because you’re at a Craps Table, the most fun you can have in a casino.

So many people pass this game by because of the perceived complexity and the unusual jargon, but Craps is really a very simple game to learn, and better yet – you can actually make some decent money by playing smart. And that’s what this book is all about.

Yes, Craps is a game of chance, but the edge the casino has on many of the bets you’ll want to make are very small. A hot streak or two, and you can make some serious “spondulicks” Y’know, “Benjamins...Moolah.” Money.

The ABC’s of Craps is designed for the beginning gambler who wants to learn how to play this classic casino game, and play it well.

Mike Exinger calls himself a 21st Century Renaissance man...just another way of saying he’s had a lot of jobs and has moved a lot. Born in Michigan during the Truman administration, he started out as a teen serving ice cream and ended his work-life likewise (although by then he owned the place). In between he's been a Banker, Radio DJ, University Professor, and Jewelry Artist and had 15 different addresses in several states and towns. In his spare time (?) he’s been a Freelance Writer for more than 30 years. Like Maynard G. Krebs, work is now a four-letter work and he lives the retired life with his wife and an enlarged prostate in Warren, OR.Writing credits include the five books/eBooks you see here, plus 100+ articles in publications such as Casino, Casino Executive, Dalton’s Blackjack Review, Double Down, Thoroughbred Times, American Turf Monthly, HorsePlayer and Card Player. Preface

CAUTION: The book you are about to enjoy comes with one serious-looking disclaimer and four caveats:

DISCLAIMER: This book, while entertaining and educational, guarantees NOTHING. It offers you an opportunity to play Craps using advice from a gambler (me) that has found such information helpful and profitable. It does not mean that you will find the same success. Stuff happens. Gambling in many forms is legal in many jurisdictions, but it is just that...a GAMBLE. Proceed with caution. If you do find that this book gives you a leg-up on other players, hooray, and go tell someone else to buy the book!

    And now, the caveats:

This book is intended for beginning Craps players who are tired of slots and want to play a game where they can have more fun and, if lucky, win a few bucks (or more).

It is NOT a book with a system that’s designed to make you thousands of dollars, as any casino game with a guaranteed edge for the house (slots, roulette, keno, bingo, and yes…Craps) has NO FOOLPROOF SYSTEM.

There are only two things required to win in a game of pure chance – luck, and being smart about your money. I can’t do anything about the first element (nor can anyone else), and the second factor is what this book is all about. There is nothing else.

Finally, the book is designed to be simple to read and intended for those who don’t know how to play, or think they do, yet somehow, as if by magic, lose all their money at the table. Fortunately for me that’s a lot of people. You can decide which group you’re in.

    Enjoy.

Chapter 1 – The Most Fun You Can Have In a Casino

I don’t know why more people don’t play Craps. Well, wait, of course I do, or I wouldn’t be writing this book. I’ll tell you why in a minute.

In any casino, there are games of chance and games of both skill AND chance. Slots, Keno, Bingo, and Roulette are games of pure chance. It doesn’t matter what course of action you take during the game, because every bet has predetermined odds, and the odds always favor the casino. Blackjack and Poker offer a thinking gambler a better chance to make money in a casino because these games are games of skill AND chance. Decisions made at the poker or blackjack table can alter the outcome
