a trio of tryouts: reviewing three word games

This past summer I was perusing the web for “word nerd”-type games to offer as door prizes at a writing conference I run, not intending to fill my own shelves. But, like I seem to do each holiday season when I stumble upon something incredibly cool or useful, I added an extra to my cart. One for them. One for me. (Oops!) The craze of web-based Wordle (which will soon have a tangible version) combined with the approaching gift-giving season inspired me to finally bust open the three word games I “accidentally” purchased to see if any or all would indeed make good gifts for letter-loving friends and family.
