    Editor’s Note

The short story, when written well, has the ability to translate the reader, or listener, to another reality. So too with poetry. Unfortunately, over the last thirty years it has become harder and harder to publish short items. Those sources that do publish them become the focus of the elite within the writing community. This makes it harder and harder for writers of short forms to publish, and harder still to be able to make a living at it unless published in collection form. Unless well known and published within this handful of magazines, even this is difficult. But where are the new practitioners of short form writing to come from? With the growth of electronic magazines, and their relatively inexpensive production costs, we now have the chance to increase the growth of magazines which publish short content and get the writers both practice and notoriety in these forms.

November marks the second anniversary of Congruent Spaces Magazine. Congruent Spaces continues to be devoted to this form. We are dedicated to publishing short form content from new and rising artists and providing them with a platform for being read and heard.

    A City Like No Other

    by Jacqueline Platt

Just as you swept me off my feet when we first met,

Nashville took away my breath and I can’t forget.

I fell in love with you and my heart found it’s place

On the Tennessee line in the land of God’s grace,
