    INTRODUCTION

America is under an obesity epidemic because its population is 63% overweight (US statistics) that includes 30% obesity and gaining. More frightening, the kid population is also affected by weight problems and diabetes as well. Overweight and diabetes are parallel development results of excess sugar intake. In other words, Americans are under siege by sugar and fat and acidic food.

Most kids love sweets and adults as well. Never meet too many people who didn’t like chocolate for instance. Nothing wrong with having some dark chocolate, (Flavonoids) on the contrary, it is beneficial in small quantity. Most will say that we need sugar in our system to give us the energy, which is glucose in our blood, but the body produces glucose for your needs.

The main difficulty with sweet and any other products like carbohydrates and starch is the amount that we consume. WE JUST CONSUME TOO MUCH and most of the time without knowing it.

The main reasons why we consume too much is ignorance of what we consume and secondly, we don’t know how to control our intake of food. I would sum it up in BAD HABITS and lack of WILL POWER to reverse of consuming intelligently without gluttonizing.

I’ve heard many times from overweight people that they on a diet, lose some weight and then all of a sudden, they have gained it back rapidly. The weight ‘’yo-yo’’ a few times until they give up completely. The only reason is dieting won’t work for a long period of time, because most of the time it is starving or restrict people to the limit without considering well balanced nutrition.

If you change your mind about food and getting rid of bad habits like eating junk food for instance, there won’t be a need to restrict yourself or starving yourself. In other words, there wouldn’t be a need to be on a diet. Your daily intake would be suitable and sustainable.

Changing your mind is the quintessential part of changing your bad habits to a healthy lifestyle.

There are two components of why people get overweight or obese; First it is the wrong choice of foods which doesn’t give you the nutrition one needs to operate efficiently and the second is the amount of food we have in a given meal or extra meals. Nibbling, munching, tasting, sucking on candies, really adds up.

We have to separate the two because the reasons people practice those bad habits are different. The first is ignorance and the second is that having excess food is a compulsive disorder.

To be compulsive about something is an addiction beyond your conscious control. One can be addictive to just about anything as long as it is a quick fix that makes us happy, thus compensating for a deeper psychological problem which is hidden and we are trying to shelter from it, to escape by eating.

Both can be overturned by reading this book.

The difference between obesity and being overweight is the BMI (body mass index) which is the measurement between height and weight. To be seen later.

I’ve succeeded getting the WILL POWER AND SELF DISCIPLINE to develop a conscience (mostly by vanity) of well-being, always wanted a flat stomach and feeling good, agile, flexible and sexy. I’ve achieved that in the last forty years and that, is something I could tell people. Good habits always have been my practice for probably vanity reasons, but what matters, is the results. A bit of vanity is good as greed is good (?). I love fish and broccoli as oppose to a cheeseburger and fries. Not a real sacrifice but I took customs to love food that was good for me because I developed a taste for it and I was conscious of what I was eating.

Ignorance is a poor excuse now days.

There are tons of cooking programs on eating well and changing your bad habits to a healthier lifestyle but they don’t tell you where you get the WILL AND DISCIPLINE to do that. Most people succumb royally to rigid diets. All it takes is changing your mind about food and never ‘’be’’ on a diet because; your lifestyle is a good one and you don’t suffer from it.

On the contrary, you love it. Wouldn’t that be great if you can live and do what you want, eat what you want and never worry about your weight and most of all, love yourselves. No diets and sustain a healthy weight.

WILL POWER STARTS IN YOUR MIND tells you how to achieve not only a different lifestyle but to achieve a life, a DIFFERENT way of thinking.

It would never come into my mind to let go, be fatty or even think that it doesn’t matter. Don’t want to feel saggy, rippled, giggly, out of control, sweaty, out of breath, lazy, apathy towards everything. No sweat pants and sweat shirt for me. Those are the people that have let go. They don’t feel the tightness of their clothing, the little squeeze that tells them they are gaining weight. They are just hiding in bigger clothing. I feel free and loose. (They say to themselves) Freedom, freedom at last!

FREEDOM IS CONTROL, NOT LETTING GO.

I can tell you in simple words and probably offending you in the process, (if that is what it takes), and change your mind about yourselves, food, about sex, about love and about exercise. You are going to become from an indoor type to an outdoor type. To a happy per-son as oppose to a guilty person because you had again, had too much food, broken promises you have made to yourself and trying to hide your inferiority complex.

HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A CHANGE?

This book is not about food and diets, even though I’m making suggestions and giving you the knowledge to help you, it’s about YOUR MIND SEEING THINGS DIFFERENTLY and be totally conscious about where you stand in life and the reasons you are living for.

You can enjoy life for what it is as opposed to hide, to compensate and give importance to things, to minor details that you will wonder how come you didn’t see the light before.

You will see the light of GETTING THE WILLPOWER.

It has to begin in your mind and then a bit of knowledge about food, antioxidant, knowledge about your body and exercise and the harm you are doing to it presently. Remember, you have to be your own health advocates. I want you to develop a conscience.

    CHAPTER ONE

    WHY WE LOVE FOOD

I can resist anything but temptation. (Oscar Wilde)

Whenever I encountered fat or obese people they always mentioned how much they love food. And, on the other hand, I don’t know of many people who does not like food. We needed for your body to survive and we needed on a daily basis.

The difference in this statement is love and like. I think that most people have the same taste buds as any other person. Let say that 50% of the people have normal taste buds and 25% have great taste buds and 25% have low taste buds or are non-tasters. (Source: on Dr.OZ)

What tastes sweet and sour for one also tastes sweet and sour to others in general for the most part. Let’s say for argument sakes, that we love food on four different levels. Some love food to excess, some love food, some enjoy food and some like food. Very few are indifferent.

Which category do you think you fit in? If it is the first one, I would call it gluttony for identification purposes.

    Let’s call a spade a spade.

Overweight people have at some point had food to excess for a long period of time. Ate more than required and the body have stored it and accumulate it and it shows. It’s called; FAT.

I think the first culprit about food is that we have too much of it. The quantity of food is more damaging that the quality.

If you wait until you feel full to stop eating, it is already too late. It takes time from your mouth to your stomach (20 minutes) and if you are not paying attention, you will over eat, simple as that. That is why it is so important to eat slowly and masticate and take the time to enjoy.

Some people, some fat people will say; it is so good, I want more. WRONG. You are nourishing your body not eating everything that tastes good. You live for food while you should have food to live. Nourishment is part of your life, not all your life. There is no point of having more that day since you can easily have it tomorrow and spread your calorie intake in two days or several meals as oppose to gluttonize. You are not supposed to eat until you are full and can’t eat another bite and loosen up your belt. That is a NO, NO.

Why are we so inclined towards sugar? The worst food of all? Because it is rewarding to the system and let’s face it, sugar is also addictive. We give cookies to kids for a reward or we bring them to the ice cream parlor for some treats. Would you bring your kids every day to the parlor? No you wouldn’t, even if they have been good for days on. Why do you treat yourself to donuts, cream puffs and the likes? Because you think you deserve a treat from the lousy life you have as an obese person.

You’re uncomfortable, people don’t necessarily like fat people, you’re repulsive as oppose to
