Proposition

I want you to sleep with my boyfriend.

Janet stared at Megan in disbelief, her mouth open. Excuse me? She looked around the coffee bar, but no one else seemed to have heard. The radio played something from the nineties, but suddenly she couldn’t hear it.

He wants to have sex, Megan replied, And I’ve never done it. I’m scared. I thought if maybe you had sex with him instead, I could keep him happy.

There’s nothing to be scared of, said Janet, You don’t even have to do anything, just lie there and let him do you.

It’s not like that, Megan ran a hand distractedly through her long brown hair, I want to be good at it. You’ve been with your boyfriend Trevor for six months, and sleeping with him longer than that. You know what you’re doing, right?

Janet shrugged and took a drink of her mocha while she considered her friend’s request. Sure, she said hesitantly, but I don’t understand what you’re asking of me.

I want to learn, Megan said, But I’m afraid. I thought maybe if you were there with me, if I watched him have sex with you, then maybe I’d be more comfortable with it. Eventually. I thought I could maybe just watch?

You’ve been my best friend for fifteen years. Please say yes. Megan grabbed her friend’s hand across the table and looked imploringly into her blue eyes.

So let me get this straight, you just want to watch Mark have sex with me?
