A one... A two... A one, two, three, four...! How’s that then, for a classic intro...? But wait a minute... That’s more of a song intro, innit...? And this is more of a story, innit...? So, let’s start again, shall we...? Hi... How are you...? I’m Stanski... Now, don’t worry, I’m not as bad as I seem... I’m a strugling author... Not a tortured artist...! The thing is, I’ve written these books...For people to read... Do you like reading...? Everyone loves a good read, don’t they..? Anyway, I’ve got these books... That I’ve written... I know, you don’t know which books... I’m just getting round to telling you about them, aren’t I...? The thing is... If you want something doing... You might as well do it for yourself... So... I wrote these books myself... Now... These books... Y’know... The ones I’ve written... But haven’t got round to telling you about yet... These books that I’ve written... That I’m telling you about now... Will be available, very soon, for you to download... From Smashwords... To your PC, Tablet, or Mobile Phone...! In fact, pretty much anything connected to the internet...! Thanks to the miracle of modern technology...! It never ceases to amaze... Does it...? A Bit Of Background Stanski is the kind of guy who doesn’t do things by half measures. For example, he’s the guy who went to Thailand in 1999, to see in the New Millennium. He enjoyed it there so much that he decided to stay on for a while. He didn’t return to the UK until October... October 2010...! Stanski began writing in earnest in 2005 while recovering from a motorcycle accident, in the northern city of Chiangmai, in which he sustained serious head injuries. Since then, he has completed four novels, and is currently writing a fifth. Examples of verse by Stanski can be found on his Blog, ‘Elephant Small’ www.says-sir-ten.blogspot.com

Elephant Small Vol 4 - Stanski
It was not the Vuvuzelas
It was not the match ball
It was not the training facilities
It was not the match officials
It was not the playing surface
It was not the altitude
It was not the attitude
It was not the team coach
It was not the team selection
It was not the team tactics
It was not the missed chances
**************************
It was not the injury list
It was not the fans reactions
It was not the time added on
It was not a fluke
It was not fixed
It was not fair
It was just not cricket
It was not the world cup that was
It was the world cup that was not
It was not that we was not lucky
…We was robbed!
2. Syllable Sestinas
Syllable Sestina.
Nasty teen lad says ‘dull’,
Collapses silver sheen,
Regal La-Di-Da-ness.
Guess queen will sulk at that.
Can flashiness fulfil?
This is not poetry!
We deserve fizz! No hot-
shot free proses, Mister!
Sir got his thesis, no?
…?
Lower piss-pot pleases
…?
‘Tis no-meter rot, this!
When will we understand
and end her villainy?
Three tanned gunmen thrilled her.
Her evil band then stun,
plunder twenty grand, kill
Jill Dunne and her G-Men.
3. Do You Know The Way To...?
"PAST the football stadium;
IT’S about a mile from here.
AROUND the first roundabout;
TURN right onto Princess Street.
I think that’s what the road's called;
FAST-food take-outs all along,
SO many you can’t miss it.
GOES a bit fuzzy from here;
JUST slow down a bit, you’ll see.
DAY Centre’s well sign-posted.
EACH Monday, someone asks me."
4. I Want
I made myself what I am
You cannot help but adore
Terms and conditions are mine
I want all you have, and more
I demand your loyalty
Your affection, your respect
In return for your kindness
…Nothing …What did you expect?
Give me your love; I’ll cheat you
Give me your money; it’s spent
Give me all your possessions
To squander is my intent
I only want it to say
‘Been there, done that, seen it all’
Then I just want the next thing
You live to answer my call
