About this ebook

What you truly are is beyond your comprehension. Your awareness is so very limited that it is as if you have been looking at the world through a microscope rather than a telescope. You have unknowingly magnified small things rather than brought large things into view. With a change in perspective, you will awaken the true vision of God in your life and will know that you have been fooled into imagining yourself as you are not.

God wishes for you to know yourself as you truly are - as you were created to be. God has given you all of His powerful creative abilities. His spirit is no different than yours, you have simply imagined that you are less than what you truly are.

God has given you full creative control, but you have not realized your full potential. You have been taught wrongly - that you are less than perfect and capable of doing wrong. From God's perspective, you are absolutely perfect just as He is perfect. He created nothing less than what He is. You are a part of God, wholly perfect and a part of All there is.

Know yourself for the fullness of experiencing yourself as God intended. Put no limits on God's creation.

The Scribe Described This scribe did not intend to be, yet was somehow chosen. Destiny played its part, shifting me to we, from I to all. I have always had a great curiosity about God and had studied much on the subject, but my primary focus was my career. Learning about God took on a new twist when God inspired me to write the words heard. “Hearing” is not how the words actually come, for it is more of a “knowing.” When the mind is quieted, the emptiness is filled with inspired knowledge. I write as and when instructed, either with pen or keyboard. The vehicle does not matter, but the content is to be kept sacred. Always, I understand that I must keep the sanctity of the gift given. Regardless of my own judgments about the content, I understood that the content is not about or for me. The content is to be presented as received, for the benefit of those seeking to have their questions answered. I cannot profess to be specially qualified, except that I am able to simply bring the words received to print. My credentials really do not offer credence to the work, except that they are verifiable and do demonstrate the normality of my life. I do hold degrees in accounting and education and have thirty years business experience.

    Dedication

It is difficult to imagine the alignment of circumstances which brought forth the experiences of my youth. Typically, we underestimate the individual occurrences which contribute to the whole of life. In reflection, we see the beauty of each gift that we are given for the making of our lives. Suddenly, the pieces of life’s puzzle fall perfectly into place.

    Thanks Dad.

    Acknowledgment

The lessons learned over the last two years have been based primarily upon the wisdom of A COURSE IN MIRACLES. In its uniquely profound truths, the secrets of life are revealed.

The information contained within must be allowed to blossom over and over again. At first, little wisdom is revealed. With subsequent readings, study, and practice, the petals of wisdom’s flower do open to reveal ever more brilliant and magnificent truths.

Deep and abiding gratitude is felt for the creators of A COURSE IN MIRACLES and to THE FOUNDATION FOR INNER PEACE for being the care taker of this most valuable document.

    Foreward

This book is a compilation of much of what I have been taught in the last two years. It has been exactly two years to the date since I finished the composition of the five book set which was recently published. Suffice it to say that God has relentlessly put information in my path and has kept my spiritual learning on target. Being ever diligent, I have never been at a loss for new information leading to my spiritual maturity.

On my climb up the spiritual ladder, I have found consistently that there are certain fundamental truths which are revealed from varying sources. I have learned that Eastern religions teach about Jesus in much the same benevolent light that Western religions teach about Jesus. In fact, one of the most moving portrayals of Jesus was found throughout AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI by Paramahansa Yogananda, who brought Eastern religion to America in the early twentieth century. His biblical insights are profound and offer a greater understanding of the concepts behind the words. One may find Hinduism not their cup of tea; however, the teachings of ancient Indian spiritual masters closely mirror those of Jesus who was not yet born into this world. By separating ancient wisdom, we lose the continuity of the Whole. If we step outside of our borders of religious confines, we find that the basics are essentially the same.

We may profess that Christianity is the only acceptable religion to God; however, Christ was not a Christian. Christianity came from Christ’s teachings, not at His behest but at the behest of those who were tasked with spreading the Good News about God. The Bible does include a reference of Jesus’ words stating that no one shall go to God except through Him. For the world that has no knowledge of Him, this would seem unfair even to the most unreasonable people. Clarity of Jesus’ wisdom can be had from other sources. I find that A COURSE IN MIRACLES, scribed by Helen Schucman, who did not even believe in what she was given to write, presents a complexity of concepts which are difficult at first to comprehend but eventually offer great insight into the spiritual mind of Christ. The book was dictated to the writer who believed that the information giver was Jesus. The book’s title is misleading to those of us who picked it up thinking that we would learn how to perform miracles. Greater clarity of the information in A COURSE IN MIRACLES is found in DISAPPEARANCE OF THE UNIVERSE by Gary Renard. The messages and underlying meanings are discussed in a more meaningful and understandable way.

ONENESS by Rasha is by far the most relative book to my spiritual path. The intricate explanations describing the road to spiritual maturity are beyond compare and offers the seeker a greater practical understanding of how the undoing process really works. It is explained how we travel through the process, why we must go through the process and demonstrates how we can attain our reconnection to God. The CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD books by Neale Donald Walsch are masterful in their simplicity, helping the reader to understand God on a more personal level.

All of these books are not based upon religions, but are explorative materials aimed directly at developing a more personal relationship with God. According to the authors, except Yogananda, the information in these books came directly from God, Oneness, Spirit Guides or Jesus. Unless one has had the experience of hearing God speak, it may be hard to believe that it is even possible. When one is given words to document, the call is unceasing until the work is done. Having been fortunate enough to write God’s words as heard from Him, I realize that it is both possible and probable for those who are open to the experience. Helen Schucman, the writer of A COURSE IN MIRACLES, asked the Voice why she had been chosen as the writer. The answer was given that it was because she would do it. It was not that she was profoundly spiritual or a great believer; it was that she was willing to write what she heard for seven years. God chooses the willing as He will never inflict upon our free will. One need only be willing to be the messenger of God.

Like many of you, I found the information very disconcerting at first. But as God has taught us to judge everything according to its inherent truth, the information made more sense to me than anything else. It somehow rang true on a deeper level and offered me answers to questions which had not been previously answered. Each person must find what is true for him/her self and I do not propose that the information offered is anything but an offering of possibilities.

The Bible is filled with much information, but also leaves many questions in its wake. Further research and learning is needed to find answers to the remaining questions. The questions are not the same for everyone. The conclusions about the biblical information are as varied as the ones reading it. I do take comfort in the fact that certain truths have withstood the test of time. We know that God did not partition out His knowledge differently to each sect. The Jews weren’t given different rules from everyone else. The Hindus and Buddhists and Taoists and Muslims and Christians and Jews were all taught from a single Source. The various interpretations of the teachings have resulted in religions. God did not create religion, man did. Man has allowed the different interpretations to separate man into different religions which have caused great divisiveness in the world. God gives equally to all and does not distinguish between one or the other. Has not much of God’s wisdom been lost in translation?

The one referenced statement of Jesus in the New Testament would exclude all people who are not followers of Jesus. God does not teach separateness, but only operates in perfect unity. Man is divisive, God is not. If we sort out the details of God’s wisdom from all religions, we will find that we have a beautiful basis for perfect love for all to behold. Instead of focusing on our differences, we would be well advised to focus on our similarities. Our religions have caused us to separate ourselves and to live in isolation rather than unity. Jesus would never have intended that His messages were exclusionary. Perfect love would never leave out anyone.

I recommend that you allow God to bring to you the information that is best suited for your learning. Often when I am in a bookstore, I will ask God to guide me to what I should read. The ONENESS book was shown to me out of the thousands. I had never heard of this book, but have found it to be exactly what I needed at the time. If we allow God to put into our lives what we need, He will give us better than we can give ourselves. Remember, there are no accidents or coincidences.

As is so eloquently conveyed in A COURSE IN MIRACLES, words are merely symbols of symbols and should not be given greater gravity than is intended. Words can never completely express the knowledge of anything. Words are limited, but are the best means we have for dispensing information. Please allow a reasonable understanding of the limitations of words in your reading of this text. Don’t needlessly be tied to presumed literal translations or give credence to one term over the other.

The word God can never even remotely describe the concept that we are trying to convey. There are various terms used by various writers which offer the same general concept, such as God, Source, Creator, Oneness, etc. Additionally, the gender He has been used to represent God simply for ease of writing. Certainly, I make no assertion that God can be either male or female. Please let all definitions and discernment be your own. This text is merely a learning tool.

    Introduction

A messenger is not the one who writes the message he delivers. It is enough that he accept it, give it to the ones for whom it is intended, and fulfill his role in its delivery.

Would you receive the messages of God? For thus do you become His messenger. You are appointed now. You who are now the messenger of God, receive His messages.

    A Course In Miracles

And so is given the messages of God, received first for my learning that I may give them to others as they were given to me. It is obvious to me on all levels that this is true, as I held the very thoughts of disbelief in the content of much of the messages given, even as they were being received. While typing the very words that were senseless to me, I knew full well that I had first to learn the lessons and that in learning the lessons as I have received them, both I and the chosen recipients would benefit from the teachings. My task is only to offer the messages to others. I have no stake in the outcome, for God sends His messages to whom they will benefit. I am merely the student and the conduit.

My logical mind does often question the content of the messages and I often have to reassess my place in the process. I often find that the content seems scattered and illogical, but have to remind myself that the message is not mine and that I have been chosen to convey it as received. From this place of trust, I must give what is received knowing that God will deliver it to where it shall go. Mine is not to determine the content or the outcome; therefore, know that I have done my part and believe that God has shared it with you as part of His will for you. His will be done.

As with all of life’s teachings, judge for yourself the meaning that you will hold. Do not allow the input of others to influence your beliefs. God has given each of His children the freedom of choice and He would have each one choose freely the beliefs that each hold true for himself/herself. There are no right or wrong beliefs – only those which are true for each person. The truths which are held by you will become evident in the resonance with your very inner core. You will instantly recognize what is true for you when it rings the cymbal of your deepest knowing. Allow the messages to be at least received. Upon receipt, you will know what is true for you and what is not. No two people hold exactly the same truths, so don’t allow the truths of others to be your truths.

Allow God to bring forth the messages that you have called to yourself. It is in the allowance that we truly receive the gifts of God. Our efforts to plan and force things to happen prematurely cause us great strife in this life. Until we learn that everything will happen in God’s Divine Order, we will constantly be in conflict with ourselves and our divinity.

The words given in the book title are very profound once understood. They are not simply five words, each with nine letters, given for appearance. There is great meaning in each of them and they do truly hold the keys to spiritual mastery. Please consider the meaning of each before proceeding, as the wealth of meaning contained in each will hasten your journey. Once you hold these truths, you will see that the messages that follow will demonstrate further the truths of each word.

Awakening is the process of seeing things as they truly are. It is the realization that we have been sleeping and have not known the truth about ourselves or God.

Awareness is the recognition that there is much happening around you of which you have not previously been aware. You will begin to notice things as never before. Awareness of all there is starts with our being aware of our own actions and motivations. Until we recognize how and why be behave as we do, we will not understand how things work in the grand scheme.

Allowance is the literal action of letting go and letting God. Understanding that only God can bring to us what is truly most beneficial for us, we are open to receiving what is perfectly suited for us.

Accepting is a major key to spiritual mastery as it brings forth the realization that all things are in fact gifts of God and are given to you for the exact purpose of your soul.

Abundance is God. God knows nothing of lack or scarcity. All things are possible with God and we must be ready to believe and accept more than we ever dreamed possible. Abundance relates to all experiences, the fullness of all God offers us in our unlimited creative potential.

One cannot know his brother until he knows himself. We must learn to realize why we do the things that we do so that we can learn to make better choices. In the illusion of our lives, we operate daily as if the world should work according to our agendas. Until we realize that we are selfish and judgmental, we will not even be open to the possibilities of knowing our brothers as ourselves. If we let go of our perceptions, we will see that everyone is essentially the same. This is the opposite of much of what we have been taught and we have learned to separate people from us rather than bring them closer to us.

It is God’s desire that everyone love his brother as himself. This can never be until each is willing to start at the heart of the problem and chip constantly away at the barriers to our brothers that have been built up over the years of our lives. We have learned to be exclusive rather than inclusive. We have not realized that by our judgments, we have taken away every possibility that we have for true happiness. We can think that we are happy in our huge houses and opulent lifestyles, but until we know the true freedom of unselfishness, we will not know the love of God. It is only in the love of God, that true love is possible. We can ignore the problems of others by continuing to wear our blinders, but we are only blinding ourselves to the possibilities of God’s unconditional love.

Let’s take off the blinders that have for so long held us captive to the world of selfishness and materialism. Let’s open our viewpoint to one which is all encompassing – inclusive rather than exclusive. There is no greater love than that shown to another. It is truly in the giving that we receive. When we cling tirelessly to our possessions, we learn sooner or later that they are simply there one day and gone the next. There is no true satisfaction in possessions – the satisfaction is fleeting, and thus causes us to continue the never ending cycle of material attainment. Until we decide to get off the selfish train and board the selfless train, we will not know what is our true purpose in life or feel the unconditional love of God.

It is said that by judging something, we give it reality. This is true and we will come to realize that our judgments affect every aspect of our lives. We have become so caught up in our judgment based realities, that we can no longer see the world as it truly is. We are in a constant state of placing judgments on circumstances, others and ourselves. We have left the true vision of God and have put on the limited vantage point of mankind. There is a significant undoing and unlearning that must be accomplished before we can learn to live our lives as God intended. The true peace of God is only to be had in non-judgment. By allowing ourselves and others to be who we truly are, we open ourselves up to the infinite possibilities of all that God has to offer.

From the viewpoint of God, we can know that it is only we who have limited ourselves. Without the blinders that we have chosen to wear, we can truly see and know others as God has created us to be. All men are created equal and we need only learn to see with God’s eyes so that we can find true happiness and freedom.

An attitude of gratitude is the display of our acknowledgment of God for all the gifts that we have so generously been given by our Creator. It also serves to put us in a mindset which is loving and kind, rather than judgmental and unforgiving. In giving our gratitude to the Father, we are likewise giving ourselves a gift of release from expectation to appreciation. An attitude of gratitude is a gift both given and received. A grateful heart is a blessing for all to share.

Our goal is always to experience the peace of God. The shortest path is one of gratitude for all things as all things are truly blessings from God. It is through the conscious choice to experience the peace of God that we are returned to heaven, which we will find we never left. By choosing to awaken to the awareness of all there is, we allow and accept the abundance of God to bring us His peace.

Chapter 1 - It’s Always Darkest Before The Dawn

Do you believe that I would leave you in the darkness that you agreed to leave with me? Those who would see will see.

    A Course In Miracles

One afternoon, in a fit of despair, I asked God for guidance. I trust that you can relate to some of the following questions that I posed. Trust that I can relate to your questions as I’m sure we have many of the same.

Father, Father, why hast thou forsaken me? I came to you in earnest need of you and your assistance, yet I can see no light from above. You have left me in my misery to suffer in the unknowing of my own design and the darkness of my soul. Why do you ignore my cries for help? Why do you let me wallow in the misery of my making? Why do you not show me your light? What must I do to know that you are with me? Why is your light so hidden from me that I must beg to see? My cries for you go unanswered and my soul seeks to know that you are with me. What must I do? Is there anything that I can do? Where is your love? Where is your comfort in my hour of need? Where are you? Are you there? Do you even hear this cry for help?

It seems as if you are lurking around waiting for me to lose all hope before you bring forth your assistance. You let me wander aimlessly, while begging for help when none can be seen. What is your purpose in this? Why do we struggle to know that you are there? Why do you not bring us comfort when we beg for it? Why do you let us feel without, when surely you must be there? Is it good for us to be left alone? What do we learn by this? What is accomplished from our desolation? Surely there must be a reason, yet I fail to know it. I sit in silence, yet I cannot hear your messages. Perhaps such a chasm as been developed between us is so large I cannot bridge the gap. My soul knows that you are there, but I cannot seem to make contact.

Your words of comfort offer many grand promises and assurances, yet none are brought into my reality. What’s the point of this? Is there a grand purpose in waiting? What is the purpose of patience? What must I learn to bridge the gap between us? I pray earnestly for your messages, yet I hear more words of promise for the future. Is all that there is in the future? What is this concept of time that we hold so dear yet means nothing to you? Why do we live in a world where time is important yet you do not heed? Our very mortal lives are dependent upon time as we have only a limited amount, yet you would have us ignore the very concept as if it were unimportant. Time is a manmade creation for the purpose of order and organization, yet we all know that our mortality is within its grasp. If time is not important, then why must we be slaves to it?

You tell me often that I should choose my words carefully. Despite the care with which I concoct my requests, nothing seems to appear. I can ask for the same thing a hundred ways yet nothing seems to matter. There must be something that I’m missing for my pleas have not been heard. I have used the concepts taught to try to live a more spiritual existence, yet I find that I am no more spiritual than before. All that I have learned seems to teach that everything revolves around perception, by changing perception we make our reality. If all the world is but a perception, then where do you fit in? Where is all the Godly influence that is promised repeatedly in your words? If all the world is a mind game, then why do we even bother? There seems to be great futility in our being here on this earth. What is really to be gained by learning to control our minds? Instead of spirituality, would we not be better served to consult mind control experts? It seems that perception wins out over spirituality especially where our earthly perception is concerned.

If we are on this earth to merely experience, then why do we have such a struggle? Should not our lives be better spent in happiness and tranquility rather than hate and discontent? It seems that no matter what we do, we always end up with disappointment. Can this be the very purpose of our mortal lives? I understand that to know good you must also know bad; yet does there have to be so much more bad than good? You tell me that there is no such thing as bad; yet I seem to understand the concept very well. I know that there are experiences which I perceive as bad which I do not choose to experience again. In our struggle to know good, we have to suffer much. Surely there must be an easier way to know good. Surely, suffering can’t be the only way to mastery.

You tell me that no one can hurt me. Yet I have experienced what I feel is great hurt. I feel that I have suffered and I feel the hurt of others who have suffered the same and much worse. What is the point of such great suffering only to be told that there is no real harm? Physical suffering is felt and perceived to be real as it cannot be ignored. Why then do you tell us that it is not so and not necessary? Would you have us think that we are crazy? What’s the point of creating a world in which nothing we perceive as real in your opinion is? The confusion is too great for my simple mind to sort. I am in a state of flux from which I cannot seem to escape. What is the point of this confusion?

Your teachings of late would have me dismiss all that I have seen and known and believe only in the reality of the spiritual world. Being human for 43 years and having experienced things which really do seem real to me, makes it difficult for me to let go of the known for the unknown. Perhaps I am making a mountain out of a mole hill, but I can’t seem to dismiss the mountain or the mole hill. What’s the point of learning only to have to unlearn? Why must I live in a world that you consider only to be an illusion? If this computer or that tree is merely an illusion, then why go through so much to make us believe that they are real?

You tell me that only the soul is real and that everything else is an illusion of my own creation. If this is so, why do we bother creating outcomes which we perceive to be bad? Are we so masochistic that we simply like to punish ourselves? Can we be so foolish that we intentionally inflict harm upon ourselves? You say that sickness comes from our own intentions. This is a stretch that is hard to understand. Why would someone choose their own illness only to beg for its removal? These are things that my simple mind cannot comprehend. It is my greatest desire to serve you God and to know you and your ways. I have struggled to understand, yet I can’t seem to get your messages. There must be something or some way to get in touch with you that I continually miss. Please give me your wisdom and understanding that I may know you as you intended.

I am further confused by the concept of the universal laws. If there are universal laws governing our very existence and the universe can be tapped for our creative purposes, then how is this accomplished? You tell me that my energy goes forth to the ends of the universe and that my energy affects the universe. If I have affected the universe, then why do I not feel in contact with all there is? Why do I not feel the universe’s energy in return? Why do I send out energy to the universe only to have no response? Is it a one-way energy trip? What does the universe do with the constant flow of energy? You tell me that the gathering of two or more together with a common goal brings forth the result. Why have I not experienced this to be true?

The greatest mystery seems to be, why do bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people? I am deeply confounded by this. There seems to be nothing that won’t be done for someone who intends harm on others. Why are they so protected, while the innocent seem to reap your wrath? Why do your most fervent advocates seem to suffer the most? Why do you allow the suffering of millions at the hands of cruel and evil people who only seek to serve self? What is the point of being good if you only are repaid with suffering? Would it not be better to do whatever brings you satisfaction with absolute disregard for the cost to others? What’s the point of loving others if their love is not returned? If you are only love, then why do I feel so unloved?

Look back at the many who have suffered in your name. Christ himself suffered horribly at the hands of those who were nothing to his compare. Why did he suffer for you? Why did he have to be subjected to great humiliation for the sake of love? Does this personify your love? This is one of the great mysteries of history – why do you let those who love you suffer some of the most vicious attacks? Why does love have to involve such misery? What does this teach your followers? You say that no sacrifice is necessary, yet those who have loved you best have suffered the most. Surely, what was experienced was hurtful and disappointing. Christ himself begged for an explanation. What is the purpose of this in the grand scheme of God?

If all of this is merely to experience, why then not let us realize that our experience is purely for our growth and not for our punishment at the hands of men? Can God punish God? Apparently it is so, as a man can punish a man in this mortal life. Men are subjected to men and the desires of men are inflicted on others. What does this portray of the love of God? Surely God would not subject Himself to such torture. Why then does God allow His creations to create havoc on His other creations? How does this represent unconditional love? The knowing or at least the suspicion that death is not the end of life does not reconcile the harshness experienced in this mortal life. Perhaps I am more unknowing of the spiritual world and cannot grasp the greater concepts of God’s love. What must I do to be able to understand how cruelty is love?

Under the assumption that we begin our soul’s existence as primitive beings, then perhaps the concept can begin to come to light. Our lives on earth are meant to teach us that we have no need for the world and all that it entails. Our lives are but a series of plays in which we are the actors seeking to learn new ways to live without what we are living in. Would it not be simpler to just practice mind control and do away with all of the trials and tribulations? Surely there is a big picture that makes sense of all of this. My simple mind just cannot comprehend it. What must I do to be able to see past what my eyes and mind contrive to see what is real in God’s eyes?

You tell me that my soul knows everything and that I must simply remember what I know. If I know all of these things, then why can I not seem to remember any of it? Why do I continue to be plagued by things that I already know but can’t remember that I know? If all of life is an illusion, then why does my soul not teach me to let go of the illusion? If life is only an illusion, then why do we choose to be reborn into this illusory life of perceived misery? It would seem that a soul would wise up and seek to never return from happiness to misery. Once you get home to God, why leave again? If our entire lives on earth are spent trying to remember God, then why not stay where we are fully aware of God? It seems that we go out of our way to punish ourselves. Why are we so stupid as to return over and over to our lives of hurt and misery?

What is so captivating about this mortal life that our souls are dying and living again to experience? If heaven is after death, then why do we leave heaven to return to earth? The eternal mystery of life continues to be so. I cannot seem to come to terms with the purpose of it all. I sit here pondering things which I may never understand until I die. Would my life not be better spent in earthly pleasures instead of the earnest pursuit of God’s love? If God is only love, then why do I seek to have what I already have? If I am part of God, then why do I seek to reunite with what I already am? Why do people the world over worship and pray to know God, if we already know all there is to know? Why do we worship God if we ourselves are God?

You tell me that I have all the power that you have, yet I can’t make anything happen on demand. What is the secret to harnessing your power? What kind of power do you have that I do not understand? You say that all are given the same gifts of the spirit, yet very few know it. What is the purpose of having what one does not know exists?
