Chapter One

The day that Shayla first set eyes on Jake was the same day she fell instantly and completely in love with him. 

All she knew is that he entered the boutique that she owned in Raven, Massachusetts... and she felt as if an electrical jolt ran through her entire body. Jake wasn't a physically imposing man. In fact, he was just below six feet tall with a slim build. His black hair was cut in a rather rakish fashion and was longer than most men were wearing it.

However, when he looked at her, his eyes nearly knocked her on her ass. They were an intoxicating blend of blue and green that she had never seen before and couldn't even begin to name. His lashes were long enough to make women envy him. She hasn't even recovered from those mesmerizing eyes of his before he smiled at her. Her heart just stopped, gave a thud of confused elation (hearts tend not to have brains), and then tried to jump out of her chest to the floor. It was all over. His high cheekbones were enough to make models weep. And that smile take the dramatic, overwhelming perfection of his eyes. His smile made it simply sparkling, transforming his handsome face into this incredibly sexy perfection.

Oh yes, she was in love. Say perfect one more time and she might swoon.

Hi, he said in a beautiful voice, as if it couldn't be anything else, that was tinged just a bit with a southern accent. I need to pick out a birthday gift for my sister and I'm totally lost.
