John was born in Norwich, Norfolk from a merchant family. He made his first dives among the wrecks on the east coast of the North Sea. For few years he worked on British oil rigs and then moved to Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt where he worked as an underwater guide. After he moved to Thailand and then to the Philippines. He now lives in Florida where he is a diver and writes novels. His articles on diving and marine biology have been published in many magazines

Prologue

I moved into my neighborhood about 5 years ago after my divorce was settled. The house was not too large, about right for an aging bachelor to take care of by himself. After over 20 years of marriage I made the decision to enjoy my solitude for a little while. That little while has lasted to this day and I have no real desire to chance my situation. I have found that I enjoy my time alone in the house thanks mainly to the many friends I have made in the neighborhood.

The first family to extend themselves to me and with whom I became good friends with was Bill and Wendy. They lived across the street with their teenage daughter Brittney and, after about a year a son Bill Jr. Bill was a successful account manager and Wendy was a housewife who enjoyed being available to her children. I enjoyed many evenings playing poker in their garage or enjoying some time over the grill on their back deck.

Bill received a new promotion that required that he move him and his family across the country. Being in the middle of the school year Bill came to me and asked if her daughter Brittney could stay with me until the end of the school year. She is finishing her senior year in high school and very active in activities at school as well as working a part time job. She had always kept up good grades and never caused Bill a day of worry. Bill had become my best friend over the past 5 years and I would do anything for him so I agreed to allow his daughter to stay.

My life of solitude was no more but I don’t think I will miss being alone. I came to find out that Brittney staying with me was at least partly her idea. She had her own ideas of what she wanted while staying with me and after a few days opened up her heart as well as her legs to me. After several years of celibacy my new young roommate has reintroduced me to the joys of sex. That was just the start of a new adventure that took me into the lives

I like the authors style of writing and would have given five stars if it wasn’t for the number of editing errors. Author does comment in that he is going for content over grammar.
