Dreams Fulfilled

Emily reached for the door, pausing as she tried to calm her beating heart. She was scared, excited, nervous and yet ready to head out of the door and hopefully into a new life. She was uncertain as to what would happen.

She looked behind her at her Mom and Dad snuggling on the sofa. Her Mom looked so happy, her head resting on her Dad's shoulder, and her hand, it almost always was, in his lap gently caressing his thigh. Emily knew they had a special relationship and she dreamed she would find one like it for herself.

Knowing she had to go Emily picked up the wrapped box off the table next to the door and headed outside into the cold winter air. She was only heading next door to her neighbors home, so she didn't grab a coat, even though the temperature had dropped significantly the night before. The frosty air with the help of the gusty wind, blew across her bare legs and up her short skirt sending shivers through her making her have second thoughts on her choice of attire. She was dressed in her signature look, mini skirt and form
