CHAPTER ONE

DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE

We have heard that unemployment is higher than ever.  They say companies are laying off thousands of employees and college graduates are having a difficult time finding work.  Oh, and, of course, we cannot forget that they say the Baby Boomers are being squeezed out of the job market.  Blah, blah, blah . . . Enough already with this doom and gloom! 

As a former owner of a personnel agency and someone who has been around the block a few times, this is my advice . . . R-E-L-A-X. You see, everything is cyclical.  Companies lay off employees and, immediately, managers get on the phone and call personnel agencies to hire contract workers and/or temporary personnel.  While layoffs are made, the work is still there waiting to be done and someone has to do it.  I say let that person be you!

Let's focus on what is the truth, and not the media’s opinion.  The truth is you are unique.  The truth is there is no one else that was created with your gifts and talents.  The truth is you are brilliant, creative, diligent, and one of a kind.  Why would any company in their right mind overlook you in their hiring process?

Maybe you simply need some insider secrets to help you land that great job. Right now, you are only missing the tools you need to rise above the noise.
