For the best view, please view diagrams in Landscape View on a larger screen. Rotate the screen so the long edge of your tablet or viewing device is at the top & bottom, i.e., horizontal, and the short edge is vertical.

Divorce touches almost all of us, but we find the idea so painful we avoid discussing it. The result? You can walk into any busy family courtroom – and see people hurting themselves and their families. They relied on the wrong guide. Can Picture Your Divorce help people see how to make the right divorce decisions? 3 National, Independent Judging Agencies said Yes! 1. 2013 Global Ebook Awards Bronze Medal Winner for Relationships. 2. 2011 National Indie Excellence® Award Finalist for Divorce. 3. USA Book News® Best Books of 2011 Award Finalist for Parenting/Family: Divorce. To show attorneys how to help their clients make the right decisions, I have written many publications -- including "Family Law Techniques and Trial Tips" for the 20,000 member Los Angeles County Bar Family Law Reference Book every year since 1996. For people who can't afford $10 for a complete divorce guide, I've made free divorce conflict-reducing videos at the “Picture Your Divorce” channel on YouTube.

Please note that this book does not contain legal advice. This book contains legal and practical tools, pictures, and information only. The difference between legal advice and legal information is explained more fully in the section entitled Disclaimers
near the back of this book, and below. Legal information is not a substitute for competent legal advice from an expert attorney. Legal information is general information that may or may not apply to a particular person in a particular situation. Legal advice is fact-specific advice that first requires at the very least a competent, expert attorney’s complete knowledge, understanding and careful consideration of:
(1) all potentially relevant factual information about a particular individual’s actual legal problem(s) and personal situation; and
(2) all of the actual law about procedure and substance in a particular location that may apply to a specific factual situation.
As a result, competent legal advice cannot be given without a complete factual interview of the individual person, that individual person’s complete disclosure of all potentially pertinent facts, with a complete history, and that individual person’s retained attorney having the time, opportunity, and expertise to render a fully-developed written legal opinion.

Why Do I Believe This Book Teaching Better Divorce Decision-Making is Needed?
Experience Shows Many People Still Make Bad Decisions in their Divorces – Partly Because of Ignorance.
You may think making divorce decisions you can live with comfortably – which means without regrets and without anger – now & for the rest of your life – is not such a big deal. But, in my experience, practicing family law over 25 years, I can tell you that making good decisions under the stress of a divorce is a big deal. And it’s not easy. In my experience, many people get it wrong – far too often. And they hurt because they decided wrong.
I have spent a great deal of time in courtrooms for many years observing people in their divorces make the same mistakes – over and over again. Usually, the one they hurt the most is themselves. Partly because of how righteous they feel, usually, when people in a divorce attack their spouse, as they do, far too often, they attack far too viciously. It pains me to watch how many people go through their divorce – in a public spectacle of hate and war they will eventually regret.
For over 25 years, I’ve sat in courtrooms for long periods waiting for my clients’ divorce cases to be heard, and I’ve observed many others act out in their divorces. Over those many hours over many years I’ve repeatedly seen people who were not my clients unravel, attack, shoot themselves in the foot – and cause great pain to their families & themselves. It’s painful to see. That repeated experience has made me wish I could do something to help those people.
For over 25 years, in those same courtrooms,
