The rise of the DIY divorce

When you think of a divorce, thoughts may turn to warring couples, custody battles and dividing assets, and that’s not to mention the huge legal bills from expensive solicitors to negotiate everything.

So it may come as no surprise that many couples are deciding to cut a costly corner and opt for a DIY divorce, which means not using the expertise and support of a solicitor. A recent poll found that 57% of separating couples had sought little to no professional or legal help.
