I was born in Namibia and grew up on a farm. I joined the Military after leaving school and became a career soldier. I later left the military and went into automotive engineering. I was interested in health, fitness and nutrition from an early age so that when I lost my job at age 55, I decided to learn more about my interest, and start doing something about it on the internet. This fits in nicely with my lifelong ambition to help people especially neglected children and the elderly in my part of Africa.

Who is this book for?
It is for you if you can see, feel, and realize the ill effects of obesity and overweight on your body, life, and health, and want to do something about it.
It is for those of you who felt the pain of failure to lose weight and of rejection by a society shaped by the media hype of the perfect
body.
It is for you who cannot find decent fitting clothes in shops due to the fashion industry’s following of the media hype about the perfect
body.
It is also for all of you who are sick and tired of the empty promises of fad diets and the weight loss industry.
Who it is not for is those who are looking for a quick fix. Nothing of value in life is a quick fix.
What you’ll find
You’ll find some background information which is useful if you do not know how your body functions and why you store fat.
It may not be essential to lose weight but if you’re in for the long term then I do think a little knowledge won’t harm you, it may just help.
You’ll also find some motivational stuff which is essential to anything you take on in life as weight loss is more about mind over matter than all the biological and physiological facts you can learn in your life.
There is the basic stuff you can take action on, and ways to do it, and then there is the reason why we are where we are in this moment such as stress and the effects it has on our bodies and our lives.
What you won’t find
What you won’t find is fancy ideas about cutting certain foods completely from your diet, and plans including exotic foods which will make you look young, and drop weight like melting butter off your butt.
There is no promise of fast weight loss.
I’m simply writing this book to help you realize what it takes to lose weight and to help you make the decision to live a healthier life. I’d rather make it short and sweet and write more books on the subject later on, instead of overwhelming you with facts you’re not interested in now
Is it another weight loss book...?
I can already hear you say, Not again...
Nope, it’s not the same, definitely not. Much more to it than that...
Well, the thing is. After thirty six years of intense interest, observation, studying, and participating in exercise and all things healthy, I’m so fed up with all the fad diets and confusing so called information on diets out there that I decided to write about it.
Just remember that this is purely my opinion and in no way intended to be condescending, or in any way trying to belittle any person or specific product. I’m just saying it as I see and experience/d it.
To add as some sort of disclaimer:
There is also no way anybody out there can expect the same results as any other person because we’re all individual with very definite, different physical, and psychological characteristics.
Because we are unique is exactly the reason why you and I need more help and real information to really see long term healthy results in any weight loss endeavor.
That said... Please...! Get a physical check-up and the okay from your physician or health care practitioner before embarking on any diet plan and exercise routine.
My story
Okay... I don’t think I’m some kind of literary genius but then, I only want to help people, and that does not require me to be anything I’m not. So this book is written in a sort of conversational style.
The real motivation started in 2000 when stress caught up with me because my skills were fast becoming redundant as a result of my age and the fact that I was earning too much.
I had to go into a whole new field of engineering and the company I was working for at the time really wanted to get rid of me.
I was working on some synthetic material and all of a sudden I started experiencing what seemed to be some allergic reaction to the material.
It started with hives and fast progressed to angioedema or swelling of the neck and facial tissue.
Sometimes I could not even open my eyes. They were swollen shut.
Then I had an experience diagnosed as anaphylactic shock and landed in
