With that said, let's move on and talk about my personal experience and advice on how to live and cope with bipolar disorder.

    When I was 17 and sitting in my psychiatrist office, I was waiting to put a name to my disease. I could only imagine how my life would be ever changed just from the sound of the words that named my problem. I should have been relieved to know that there was a reason for my behavior and the illness that took hold of my life. I instead only knew the stigmas that were involved with hearing the words that I was being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, also known, as manic-depression illness.

    People will always judge me knowing I have this fate, this horrible disease, attached to my name. Was it a greater sentence, than I could handle? As time went by, the idea of the diagnosis ruled my life. It was who I was and it definitely was bigger than me and life would never be quite the same, knowing the truth of my illness. Was it worth it, to know the truth or live in denial, hoping no one would ever find out?

    The truth of the matter is that it was better to know, than not to know. I could deal with the illness with
