Hi my name is Bandit the Raccoon. I’m a close friend of Horsey. Did you meet Horsey when he took his trip to Panama? I didn’t get to go to Panama, but I went somewhere cooler! I went to Washington, D.C. Isn’t that neat?
~
Have you been to D.C.? You really should go. Did you know that it’s the capital of our country? Our country was born in 1776, but Washington D.C. wasn’t born until after 1791. But wait, I’m getting ahead of my story. Let me go back to the beginning. Well, no, that would take too long. Let’s not go back quite that far. Let’s go back to just before this trip!
~
My mom…Wait you haven’t met my mom yet. Her name is Catherine Jaime, but we’ll just call her Mom here if you don’t mind. Of course, she isn’t my real mom. That couldn’t be. But she already has 12 kids of her own, and she likes to adopt
others too. So she is mom to me too.
Sometimes I get to ride in Mom’s purse.
~
Mom has made many trips to D.C. before, but this is my first time. I can see why she keeps coming back.
~
Mom really likes teenagers for some reason. (I can’t explain that, sorry.) Two years ago she brought 12 teens from her government club to D.C. in a 15 passenger van. (I wasn’t around yet.) They had so much fun she agreed to take another trip with them in two
