James Wilcox, a former newspaper photographer and writer, is currently a high school teacher in Kansas City, where is lives with his wife and three children. James, the author of Miracle Child, and two novels: Sex, Lies, and the Classroom and The M-16 Agenda, is currently working on his third novel tenatively titled Sacrificing Tyreshia.

On that shore,
the ocean laps.

we walk,

two as one,
the only sound,

Several years pass,
and once I returned.
Still on the shore,
the ocean laps.
I walked that shore alone.
I walk in our footsteps,
two is now one,
and the only sound,
the ocean laps.
That shore knows of the past,
of the day you left,
but its only reply,
the ocean laps.
Dreams
I aspire only to be artistic,
but creative I am not.
I merely write a few words,
in simple rhyme.
I see friends on the stage,
getting laughs and
