Reviews for The Tale of Tom Kitten
7 ratings7 reviews
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I like these books mostly for having seen Miss Potter, but the little kittens are adorable and of course I love the paintings.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Random and boring.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have only read one other book by this author before reading The Tale of Tom Kitten. The pictures are adorable, the story is cute, and I think younger children and their parents would enjoy reading about the naughty deeds of the three kittens in the story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Cute and sweet and all that stuff. The classic, of course, is Peter Rabbit. but Tom Kitten is in the same vein - though Peter is considerably more active than Tom, who mostly seems to follow his sisters around. Nor is there any sort of moral to this one - except maybe that mothers who want their children to look good for guests shouldn't send them out unsupervised in their good clothes! Glad I read it, don't need to ever read it again.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Mrs. Tabitha Twitchett has dressed the kittens up in preparation for her tea party, but her children can not stay looking nice! They soon loose their clothes, which are stolen by the puddle ducks. After getting in trouble they have to spend the afternoon upstairs.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Classic childrens story with beautiful water colour illustrations.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Fairly dull tale of kitteny mischief. In its favour, the pictures are lifelike as usual, at least as far as clothed bipedal animals can be. And I did learn the word "tucker" (item of clothing).
