Greek mythology is full of great heroes – and Hercules is the greatest of them all!
He was half human and half god. His mum was a woman called Alcmene, and his father was Zeus – the king of the Greek gods!
That meant Hercules was a demigod, or half-god. He was strong and powerful, but because he was part human, he would still get old. Hercules didn't like that idea!
