But there are some v annoying technical issues: the end of each chapter is clipped off, taking with it who knows how many words and what information.

The narrator does a fine job with all male voices, but The 2 main females are turned into baby dolls, speaking always through pouty kiss face. Dreadful, especially as Abigail is meant to be intelligent and freethinking as to the ‘role of women’ in business and society. So annoying!

OK so they telegraph the murderer in this book a little but still packed full of good characters. An interesting mystery and a good narrator.

Mystery was okay, nothing spectacular but interesting enough. But the "love" story elements got more and more cringey as the book progressed. The handling was super heavy handed and all 'tell, don't show'. I'm going to give the second book a chance because I like the male lead (Abigail is all over the place and borderline insufferable, especially as she's supposed to be oh so smart but there's no real sign of it. I've literally no idea what Daniel sees in her). But if it's more of the same, I already know it will join the figurative DNF pile.

Liked the narrator’s voice and style but wish the end of each chapter was not cut off I the middle of a sentence.
