About this audiobook

If someone took everything you live for, how far would you go to get it back?

Fall into this edgy, action-packed, darkly comedic, dystopian, time-travel love story (some sex, some swearing, some violence, but no vampires and absolutely no ditzes!)

This genre-defying love story will make your pulse gallop and your palms sweat, have you laughing out loud through your tears, and leave you flush with the sublime pleasure of falling in love.

Think The Time Travelers Wife meets Men Are From Mars in The Andromeda Strain, and then add a tip of the hat to Robert Heinlein for good sex (in his fiction), a curtsy to Madeleine L'Engle for wrinkles (in time), and a tail wag to Margaret Atwood (because we should all wag more and bark less).

Praise for Crossing in Time:

Engaging, Funny, Romantic & Harrowing

Not sure if it was cause i was listening to it.. but the story was messy... since it was from 3 point of views and seem to jump between 2 timelines, not having dates and times at the beginning of each chapter made it harder to follow.... it gets better about half way through the book once you get used to writing flow... still i felt myself getting lost at times.
The plot is interesting enough but the characters were a bit lacking in depth and at part the story felt bland.
Not sure if i will continue with the series... but will give it a second chance and then decide ^^

Star-crossed, time travelling lovers who have to try and save the world and themselves. If you go into the past it's a one-way deal and you don't survive long. But two lovers are willing to try to make sure that the present they're in doesn't happen, because things are bad and maybe by saving themselves they can save the world, they can make a difference, no matter what the cost.I'm not the biggest fan of Time Travel and while this was an interesting twist and really the way things go downhill were interesting, still I just felt like I wanted more out of the story and maybe a bit less trauma. Another reader would probably have enjoyed it more.

3.5Book source ~ TourIsabel Sanborn and Diego Nadales broke up over a decade ago, but neither has gotten over the other. A chance meeting in Denver right after Isabel signs her divorce papers puts them on a precarious path to love. And destruction. The only way to save the world is for Isabel to go back in time, but there’s no return ticket and no guarantee the plan will even work. Will she take that quantum leap?I’ll admit to being a tad confused in the beginning, but things are soon sorted out. Then there’s a bombshell (almost literally) and then I’m back to being confused. But that’s probably just me. There’s a reason why I don’t read many time travel books anymore and it’s because I can’t figure them out. They make my head hurt. Lol However, there are things in this story that are never explained or fleshed out. Some are just dropped in like a bomb, others are mentioned and then never heard from again. Or maybe I missed them? Not sure. Anyway, it isn’t until about 20% that I really became invested in the story. After that it’s a race to the end, to see if our world is saved. Or not. There are three POVs and the story switches between Isabel, Diego, and a physics professor named Matt Hudson. I’m not sure I totally understand what was going on in The Magic Kingdom (it’s a nickname for a place, not really Disney Land), but the sci-fi mumbo jumbo takes a back seat to the characters and the world they are living in. I couldn’t help but cheer them on because they really needed the cheering. What a mess. Yikes! Plus, I really wanted Isabel and Diego’s story to have a HEA because of everything they had been through. Do they? You’ll have to read to find out how it all ends.

    This book is told from three different perspectives: Isabel's - a geneticist, Diego's - a software engineer, and Matt's - a physicist.

Isabel runs into Diego fifteen years after their relationship ended. Now she must travel back in time to make sure they stay together. It's the only way to save the world.

After writing a review about only winning a part of the book in a giveaway instead of the whole book like I thought it would be, the author was kind enough to get in touch and send me all of book one, so a big thank you to her!

I've never really read any time travel or dystopian books, but this one intrigued me. "Be prepared to encounter a finicky time machine, a mysterious seashell and a very clever dog. The prologue drew me in. I liked Matt's perspective the most. I did like that Isabel made it to the other world. But when Isabel and Diego were together they annoyed me to no end. Despite that, though, I did enjoy the book and am curious as to what will happen next.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the first 2/3 of the book. I liked how each chapter was from someone else's point of view. The story just seemed to flow and kept me reading. But when Isabel goes back in time to find Diego that is where it lost me. Is this even the same book I was enjoying? Isabel goes back in time to get a younger Diego to change his life and thereby saving the world and all I read was how each one just wanted to have sex with the other. The ending made absolutely no sense unless it is suppose to keep you hanging for book 2. If book 2 has more of the same confusing juvenile conversations that the last part of this book had then no thank you. Read the first 2/3 you will really enjoy it but close the book when Isabel goes back in time. I received this from LibraryThing Member Giveaways for an honest review.

I received a free copy of this novel from the author via GoodReads.Crossing in Time is DL Orton's first book in the Between Two Evils series. I was immediately hooked by her wonderful prologue. The protagonist, geneticist Isabel Sanborn, is trying to barter a handgun in front of a burned out Wal-mart in some sort of post-apocalyptic world. Orton demonstrates a superlative ability to create personality in her characters with an enviable economy of words. By the end of the short prologue you become intrigued by what happened to bring down civilization and what part did Isabel play.Crossing in Time is a tale of barely requited love that for tragic reasons must be saved and nurtured. Therein lies a story of star crossed lovers that puts Romeo and Juliet to shame. For Isabel not only has to find Diego across a burned out landscape and multiple timelines, she has to make him love her despite herself. Not an easy task but an enjoyable one to read about, especially with Orton's romantic prose caressing ones sensibilities.
