About this audiobook
As lead singer and songwriter for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis has lived life on the razor's edge. Much has been written about him, but until now we've only had his songs as clues to his experience from the inside. In Scar Tissue, Kiedis proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving us a searingly honest account of the life from which his music has evolved. Kiedis defies the rock star clichés, revealing that everything he has done has been part of a passionate journey--even his descent into drug addiction, which he transformed into art. Scar Tissue is a fascinating and moving account of a fast-lane life, addiction, and eventual recovery and redemption.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5So far I don't like the audioreader.. which is a shame because most of the voices are great -& easy to follow. Which is what I'm paying for.. but don't like this audio reader in particular. Wish there was another choice

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Captivating sex, drugs, rock N roll, recovery book. Loved hearing about Keidis's and the band's creative processes. Very inspiring. A bit harrowing at times. So much outside of anything I've ever known but also much I could relate to. Often funny. Great read. Renewed my interest in the band and gave me a new appreciation for them. I listened to the albums as he talked about making them in the book which was fun. I especially loved hearing about the making of Blood Sugar which was one of the first CDs I ever purchased. Loved the whole experience.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Enlightening, heartfelt, horrid, comical, dark, lovely and inspiring all rolled into a beautiful scar tissue.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Even if you don't like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiedis' life is enthralling. Couldn't stop listening!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As a grateful recovering alcoholic of 12 years this hit home . I have read lots of books dealing with recovery but the rawness and honesty was so real. Great job by Anthony Kiedis getting the true feelings and emotions out there.
