About this audiobook

Anxiety is real—but it isn’t the end of your story.

Dr. John Delony knows what anxiety feels like. He’s walked that dark road himself, but he found light and hope on the other side of it. Bringing together his own journey and two decades of counseling and research, he walks you through:

  • The four biggest myths about anxiety and the life-changing truth
  • Practical steps you can take today to start getting your life back
  • Long-term strategies for healing to help you move forward

John will show you that most of what you’ve heard about anxiety is wrong. Things like:

  • If you have anxiety, you’re broken and need to be fixed
  • Anxiety is a disease that can only be cured with medicine
  • Anxiety is caused by your genetics

While mental health is complex, our culture has made anxiety into something it’s not. For the majority of people who face anxiety, the truth is simpler than we think: anxiety is an alarm. It’s a signal—nothing more and nothing less. Anxiety is simply our body’s way of telling us something is wrong. If we stop and listen, we can calm the alarm and move forward into healing and hope.

Easy read but difficult to apply. Still, if you put the work in, this book gives you a roadmap.

I think there should be spoiler alerts that this has religious content in it. I respect that every one has their own beliefs, but my own strong belief is that any modern and clever human being should surely be able to use facts and science around them to understand that ‘god’ or ‘gods’ do not exist. Praying should not be in any modern or useful or book in anxiety unless you are specifically looking for religious guidance. Fair enough write about it, but make sure you have this in the blurb and or title so that people can choose NOT to waste their time or support it by downloading it.

Every single glowing review of this book is accurate. I agree with many that it should be literally shoved into college students at campuses and high schools abroad. This book makes anxiety palatable, hopeful, gives solid general advice for solutions, and has personal relatable stories. All while being short! Great Great great!!

Glad I read it, as nothing is lost because it is a short read. However, not the most original anxiety book I've read/am reading at the moment. However, appreciate Delony's personal story, and holistic approach.
