Suanne Laqueur

A former professional dancer and teacher, Suanne Laqueur went from choreographing music to choreographing words. Her work has been described as "Therapy Fiction," "Emotionally Intelligent Romance" and "Contemporary Train Wreck."Laqueur's novel An Exaltation of Larks was the Grand Prize winner in the 2017 Writer's Digest Awards. Raw & real in its brave telling of many stories that waited way too long to be told, believed and understood. This second book in the series further explores Jav’s journey to make peace with his past and find courage to embrace his future. The same is true for a young sexual assault victim he meets, who heart wrenching story is interwoven through Jav’s, as well as the stories of many other amazing characters they met in this book. Thought provoking and deeply moving, beautifully written and inspiring- this is the hardest story to read, that you will always be grateful that you did.

My top listen of 2023. Beautifully written. I went in blind based on a recommendation. This is a brilliant and powerful story that will break your heart in the most brutal of ways. I felt this in my bones and was in the grips of this special book... I could not stop listening. Loved it!!!
