About this audiobook

2019 IAN Outstanding Fiction Winner for LGBTQ Fiction

His world was water and rhythm. Hard work and drive kept Royal O'Connell one step ahead of his competition. His spot on the swim team, keeping his scholarship, was the only plan that mattered.

His world was ebony and ivory. Natural talent and ambition set Camden Morgan apart from the other music majors. His dedication scoring him a full ride.

Normally, their paths would have never crossed . . . But when Royal meets his best friend's new roommate, his big plan and Camden's controlled environment faces a variable that could destroy it all. Attraction.

The world they live in had no room for error. That undeniable pull between them was dangerous and neither one of them could've prepared for the choice they'd have to make.

Love isn't always an easy road and, when everything they've worked for is on the line, they'll have to decide if being together is worth the risk.

Contains mature themes.

I’m sure it’s great but the voice actor for the other guy is so annoying with the breathy words at the end. That really ruined everything for me.
Why did he decide to do that and who approved it?

This was close to being a five star, but I'm generally very critical so it didn't quite get there.

It wasn't shallow, but I would have liked the characters and their relationship to have a little extra depth. There was just a little too much "the magic of love" that brought them together, and more importantly, kept them together, rather than bonding interactions.
Also, there was an incident that read as an ominous foreboding sign, but then nothing came of it. Which was nice because that particular drama was really not necessary, but then why hint at it? Finish what you start, or don't start it at all.

All in all a great book, but lacks the oomph to make me love it :)

Once again, Melissa Storm outdid herself in the second in the Sled Dog series, Let There be Light. It’s a book you want to set down and read the entire thing at once. It gets you hooked so you only want to stop when you need to get that tissue from tears for the dogs.In this book Scarlett Cole in living her life with a job she really loves as an librarian and the world she wants to be in with the Iditarod in Alaska. She thought she was given the chance to live out both worlds when her boss convinced her to take a year off to follow her dream of the Iditarod before she becomes the head of the library. She moves temporarily up to her friends house and starts training with the dogs. Prior to her getting to her friends, she attends the year gala and has an interesting night of dancing with Henry Mitchell III.Meanwhile, Henry is caught in a difficult position when his grandfather dies and leaves a bucket list of Henry to fulfill before he can inherit the mast fortune and make sure the family is taken care of. He also has to finish the Iditarod race as well in order to make the bucket list come true. But when he met Scarlett he had to prove he wasn’t like his grandfather who mistreated dogs and really wasn’t a nice person. The story goes on with a love/hate relationship between Scarlett and Henry. During the read you learn a lot about the Iditarod and what they go through. The author knows how to tug at your heart when she describes the sad story of Alaskan dogs that are neglected and left for dead (this is where you need that tissue). I recommend this book and I highly recommend you read the first is the series as well. Once again, Melissa Storm brings us a book you don’t want to put down.
