About this audiobook

The Trinity is one of the most essential doctrines of the Christian faith.

The eternal God existing as three distinct persons―Father, Son, and Spirit―can be difficult to comprehend. While Christians often struggle to find the right words to describe this union, the Bible gives clarity concerning the triune God’s being and activity in nature (creation), grace (redemption), and glory (reward). In this concise volume, theologian Scott Swain examines the doctrine of the Trinity, presenting its biblical foundations, systematic-theological structure, and practical relevance for the church today.

For the most part this is an excellent introduction, in which precise and formulaic language (ex. Internal vs External) is used to encourage consistency in our thoughts about and relation to the Triune God.

His weakest points are in his inadequate treatment of authority within the Godhead, and almost completely ignoring the relevance of the obedience of Christ.

Otherwise it is amazing how well the subject of the trinity is handled in such a short volume.

A bit plodding and wooden, but a good introduction, nonetheless. Ideal if used to help construct a small Sunday School's semester-worth of curriculum.
