About this audiobook

Crazy Daisy audiobook READ BY THE AUTHOR

It is always night in the cave. Take my cold hand.

Weeks before young Fern Keegan witnesses the ghostly apparitions of the woman and two children in the river tunnel during the devastating Old Castle floods, a disturbed patient named Gabriel Bogdan makes an outrageous claim that nobody at The Hillside Psychiatric Hospital takes seriously until it's too late.

My name is Daisy, but you may know me as Crazy Daisy.

Author

Jonathan Dunne

Admittedly, Jonathan has done things arseways most of his life, from completing a BA in Literature in his thirties to fitting teeth brackets (30's, porcelain). During this general confusion, Jonathan has had various short stories published. Jonathan suffers from photophobia though has a tendency towards fireworks. Originally from Limerick, Ireland, he now lives the reclusive life in Toledo, Spain, as a bearded hermit, with his wife and three daughters. He is known to be found in the local cemetery at the weekend during daylight hours, though for goodness sake, don’t sneak up on him.

I love, love, love this author/narrator. He has the formula to create great audiobooks down pat. This my third by him and I can't wait for the fourth. I love that he incorporates characters from the previous books into the current. This horror/ghost story was exciting from the beginning and just continued. Great visual depictions and horror. His narration, with voice changes brings the excitement to the forefront and hooks you completely. The characters are so strong and gripping that you are immersed in their pain and anguish. RECOMMENDED!

Watch out for the River Witch!
She'll drag you to your drowning death.....

Fern Keegan was 8 years old when she put on her new bright blue Wellington rubber boots when she slipped and ended up in the OldCastle river just as the town was going to experience a horrible flood.......she almost drowned, that was until she noticed the scary lady in a strange shift and her two children standing beside her in the rivers tunnel. She was rescued at the last minute.

The Hillside mental institution is up on the hill, and it houses one of the creepiest inmates; Gabriel Bogden and he knows something that he is not saying about the towns urban legend Crazy Daisy. Is she real?

This was the 2nd book in a row that I listened to narrated by the author himself. The first was 'The Squatter' and I raved it with 5 Screams All the Way! This was not as fast moving or interest grabbing as that one was. I did not like when we are taken away from Fern Keegan to where the story just changes and starts to tell of two more characters that I really did not care anything about. Still recommended though, as Dunne's writing is so unique in the ways he tells a story of ghosts, possession and creepy goings on in the river of Old Castle.

I really enjoyed the author being the narrator. The cadence of his voice and his accent made it very enjoyable for me to listen to the story. The over-all story was thrilling and scary. I enjoyed getting to know each character. I will search this author out for more reads.

My first foray in to Jonathan Dunne’s writing and I loved listening to the audiobook. The author also narrates his words and he’s really really good. The thing I want to bring across is that his descriptive writing of horrific or terrorizing situations is second to none.

Side note if author sees this: I would fully invest in a Big Tom series

I love a good spooky book... this started out so good and intriguing, then it just got weird and over the top bizarre and gross.
