About this audiobook

Compassionate, biblical, and thought-provoking, Embodied is an accessible guide for Christians who want help navigating issues related to transgenderism. Preston Sprinkle draws on Scripture as well as real-life stories of individuals struggling with gender dysphoria to help readers understand the complexities and emotions of this highly relevant topic. With careful research and an engaging style, Embodied explores:

  • What it means to be transgender, nonbinary, and gender-queer, and how these identities relate to being male or female
  • Why most stereotypes about what it means to be a man and woman comes from the culture and not the Bible
  • What the Bible says about humans created in God’s image as male and female, and how this relates to transgender experiences
  • Moral questions surrounding medical interventions such as sex reassignment surgery
  • Which pronouns to use and how to navigate the bathroom debate
  • Why more and more teens are questioning their gender
Written for Christian leaders, pastors, and parents, Embodied fills the great need for Christians to speak into the confusing and emotionally charged questions surrounding the transgender conversation.

Having the author read this book really contributed to the kind and thoughtful tone. I really appreciated the real stories from real relationships that Preston has. The insight on use of pronouns and group camping accommodation was really helpful too. Highly recommend

Absolutely brilliant. Thank you SO much Preston!! This is so deeply gracious and loving, but also practical and helpful in giving a plum line for loving.

First two thirds of the book were helpful. The rest risks harm to the LGBTQ community
What the author claims is biblical

Written by a cis-het Bible first Christian. Claims to be trans caring but in the end states his Anti-support for transitioning or even being trans because as he states "it's against God". A sort of an "it doesn't matter if you hate your life, as long as you get in to Heaven that's all that matters" and "It's not your body/soul, it's God's. And you don't get to decide what to do with God's things" mindset. Free will, anyone?
If you put the Bible above all else and feel that your physical body trumps your soul/personality in all ways, then this is the book for you. However if you feel that Jesus loves you unconditionally, then it isn't.

A collection of conservative talking points shared through the smug veneer of objectivity.

Straight white male mansplaining gender from his perspective. Disappointing at best
