About this audiobook
Constable Jackson Forge intends to make the world safer, or at least the streets of Victorian London. But that’s Kit Turner’s domain, a swindler who runs a crew that acquires money the old-fashioned way—conning the rich to give to the poor. When a local cab driver goes missing, Jackson is tasked with finding the man, and the only way to do that is by enlisting Kit’s help. If Jackson doesn’t find the cabby, he’ll be fired. If Kit doesn’t help Jackson, he’ll arrest her for thievery. Yet neither of them realize those are the least of their problems.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My first book by Michelle Griep. I really enjoyed it. The mystery kept me interested and there were several unexpected (to me) twists.
I liked Kit so much. Her integrity despite challenges was admirable. I am really looking forward to the sequel. I'm going to start that audiobook immediately.
If you get a chance to listen to this one... DO IT! The narrator is amazing with voices for all of the characters. She really helps bring the story to life. The audio definitely made this a 5 star listen for me. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Unpredictable and brilliant. I absolutely loved this book and the way it was narrated. I like romance and history but sometimes it's a bit sickly. This was believable and as far as my London history knowledge goes, fairly accurate as well. Definitely recommend.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I was not impressed the the two main characters they make the villains looks good by their ridiculous unreal actions the first two chapters of the story were the best
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really enjoyed this book as well as the many others I have been listen to by Michele.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this story! It isn't often that a book surprises me, and I love it when I think I may have figured out "who done it," but then find out that I am wrong!
The characters were good and solid: the good guys were likeable, the bad guys were the perfect amount of bad, and the ones that make you scratch your head in confusion because you just aren't sure, until there is no doubt, are fun to try and figure out.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
The narrator is also very good and makes this story a pleasant listen. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Highly recommend! Suitable for all audience. ?
