**BASED OFF OF AN ARC FROM LIBRARY THING**

This was a cool read, it was out of my comfort zone, but I was like why not give this a try? I did love the settings in the book, which I crave in a book.

This is a YA coming-of-age comedy about a young Jewish man named David Zelig who was recently swindled out of his deceased father's big production company by an "anti-Semite". He vows revenge, and tries to enlist the help of the Elders of Zion, only to discover they don't exist... so he teams up with his buddies Jordan and Mitchell to form their own secret society, the Trio. Suddenly they are swept into a world of conspiracy and espionage, encountering other secret societies and government agencies, from Islamic terrorists, to the Knights Templar, to the so-called Black Hebrew Israelites, to neo-Nazi factions, to the FBI, the CIA, and the NSA.I thought that this book was very biased, and occasionally even hateful. According to this book, it seems every religion except the Jewish one has a secret society. It is very anti-"gentile". Jews are portrayed as a poor persecuted people. Christians are portrayed as A) people like the Knights Templar, "an ironic mix of puritanical mores and inhumane cruelty",) people like David's non-Jewish girlfriend, with corrupt morals and no problems with premarital sex, or C) people like the insane cave-dwelling descendants of Tsar Nicholas of Russia, who think that being a Jew makes somebody a beast worthy of death. Muslims were portrayed as Jew-hating Islamic terrorists. Black Hebrew Israelites were not mentioned often, but when they were it was either neutral or as hostile shooters of Jewish people. No other religions or belief systems are portrayed favorably.Whether or not the intent of the book was to offend, I do not know. I tend to think it was satirical. However, the fact that the book was propagandic and biased was rather obvious. For somebody who talks about hate as much as the author does in this book, he seems to show little grace or love for non-Jews to picture them in the way he portrays them. I also thought that the humor in the book, while it may appeal to some, was sophomoric and at times rather crude, and it contained some mature content that may not be appropriate. Also, the story had a few unexplained holes in it that I was hoping for answers to, but there were none, at least not within the book itself. My personal rating of the book would be two stars.

I was provided this book free of charge by the author for reviewing purposes.The blurb of this book sounded quite wacky and fun, so when offered the chance to review it I thought it would be a fun read, and I can now say that my initial impressions from the blurb were not in any way wrong.It's an enjoyable lighthearted book that doesn't take itself too seriously, David Zelig has been wronged and decides he's sick of being at the wrong end of peoples anger and discrimination, so he decides to start his own secret society. Yet he's not really sure how one goes about that, so he picks up some old propaganda material and tries to use it for a guide, then tries looking on the dark web were he stumbles into another secret society. From here it's a fun rabbit's hole of entertaining antics as this secret society isn't at all what he expected, and he and his friends then picked up by the FBI to infiltrate this secret society, upon which they find out there's yet another secret society seemingly at war with the former one.Overall, it was quite an enjoyable book and I think I shall now be looking at some of the authors other books as this was good.
