About this audiobook
Two women connected by the same musical soul are transposed across time into each other’s world by the mysterious forces of a priceless 18th-century cello. A story of music, history, and love that finds a way to conquer the barriers of time.
In the final instalment of the Song for a Lost Kingdom trilogy, Adeena Stuart and Katharine Carnegie search for the music neither can complete on their own.
Finding themselves living three centuries apart and each assuming the identity of the other, Adeena and Katharine must overcome their own unique challenges, all the while hiding the truth of who they really are from those around them.
Adeena is pregnant in Scotland following the slaughter at the Battle of Culloden in April 1746. Her husband James Drummond and his brother John Drummond, are being hunted as Jacobite traitors by the revengeful butchers of King George’s Hanoverian army.
Katharine meanwhile awakes in the year 2019, confused by even the simplest of technologies and overwhelmed by the strange customs of the modern world.
Pregnant from an unknown father, and uncertain about whether true love lies in the past or present, she finds respite in her music and the only thing familiar about this strange place – the Duncan Cello, now a prize artifact of the National Gallery of Canada.
Through it all, Adeena and Katharine find a way to compose a score across time that reflects the turmoil in both their lives – The Heart Beats in Time. And together they will see the story through to the final bars.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Heart Beats in Time is the story of two extraordinary women,
Adeena and Katherine, who are over two and a half centuries apart, but
united through their music. The narration by skilled readers and
hauntingly beautiful music brings the book to life and the listener is
transported to another time and place. Action-packed, filled with
historical events and modern-day mystery, I listened in suspense to
find out how the intertwined lives of these two women would coalesce.
Original music and lyrics add to the magic of the story and I was
pulled into the lives of the characters, not wanting the story to end. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Scotland's Oral Tradition Is Alive in 21st Century
This trilogy started off with the first book leaving me breathless with the beauty of it and in total wonder of the absolutely brilliant writing, as each book has come to me it has sung to my heart, whispered in my ear, rattled through my brain, waltzed through my dreams and Yes,This Story Has Embedded in My Soul Forever ! It is true that the story has come to an end for now as the author may need to walk away for a bit to take a breath, I believe and I'm sure all his fans will want to hear more of the story in time, so they and I will wait for a day in time when the story will begin again. Until that time I say to you Steve Moretti you are a brilliant writer and the rarest of all a truly gifted Storyteller ! In the 21st Century Steve Moretti You Stand Beside the greats of Scotland's Oral Traditional Storytellers !
