About this audiobook
There’s only one escape from this gilded prison: Reven. My Shadowraith. My heart. Only the shadows that he struggles to control are growing more sinister, more powerful.
It’s just a matter of time before they turn on him … and on me.
Even escape doesn't mean true freedom, though, when we're still on the run from Eidolon’s unstoppable armies. And when we discover there’s a traitor among us, I have no choice … I must become the queen I was never meant to be.
Because as one evil hunts me, the other loves me more than himself.
And my fate lies with both.

Held prisoner by Eidolon, posing as her sister, the true queen, Tabra, Meren pretends to be under the spell contained by the necklace Eidolon had used on her sister. And while she is his captive, her sister, Reven, and Cain are on the run, trying to hide Cain's people and those Reven had under his protection in the Shadow woods.
Since this is book 2 of the series, I do not want to give out spoilers so I can't say too much. (That's the sucky part about writing reviews. You want to rave about a series, but can't or you'll give away what happened in the previous book(s)).
Anyways... This book picks up almost right after the first, but it took me a while to get back into the world due to the lack of recapping. It took a few chapters before the storyline, plot, and characters fell back into place.
It was a quick read as the characters traveled all over the kingdom, and others, hiding from Eidolon and searching for a way to stop him. Good descriptions, and not an overabundance of them. But there was borderline porn, and for a book that's supposed to be for teens, that's not a good thing. The 'romance' is more descriptive than the violence, so I don't think it's very suitable for readers under 16, just as long as they are a mature 16 and older.
