About this audiobook
‘A wonderfully twisty maze’ JAMES OSWALD
DI CHARLOTTE SAVAGE KNOWS WHO KILLED HER DAUGHTER
But before Charlotte can get her revenge, disturbing events start to unfold on Dartmoor…
A woman’s naked body is found near an isolated reservoir on the bleak winter moors. When the woman’s housemate also goes missing, Charlotte knows she must move fast.
But in a police force tainted by corruption, Charlotte’s hunt for the killer won’t be easy.
And resisting her own urge to kill will be even harder…
A page-turning, terrifying crime thriller, perfect for fans of Peter May and Tim Weaver, and TV series Broadchurch and Scott and Bailey.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Shame but I didn't like it. Too much animal cruelty and dismissal of animals in general. Apart from the fact the protagonist doesn't like dogs, she's a shallow, almost autistic character. The whole thing lacks depth and it's tough to connect. Sad as it's a lengthy series. Unlikely cliche psychopaths written by psychopath? Not for me
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Detective Inspector Charlotte Savage and her team are investigating a series of of gruesome attacks on young women. The victims are being drugged, abducted, assaulted and then abandoned. When the mutilated body of one of the women is found on a beach, the rape case turns into a murder inquiry. While the story itself is fairly standard for the police procedural genre, I did like Charlotte a lot. She's not filled with angst and she's very professional. She heads her team in a believable way and while we didn't get a lot of character nuances, it may be because this is the first book in the series. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who doesn't like gritty mysteries but the price was certainly right.......free on Kindle. There are currently five books in the series so I might check another out in the future.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A graphic and violent crime novel featuring the first outing of DI Charlotte Savage. I'm not sure it was necessary to be quite so graphic in detailing the various assaults and murders which take ploace. However this is tempered by a good description of how painstaking research and detective work finally reaps rewards.
